Alright guys.. im coming to the end of my sponsered diet.. and i have not lost nearly enough weight! Because of my grandfather dieing a couple of weeks ago i had a bit of a mishap and ended up putting on about 4lbs. :( which means that i have to loose that weight along with all the rest.

Basically my dilema is that i have 18lbs to loose in about 3 weeks. Im on a food replacment thing which means im having about 600cal a day.. and if i stick to the diet compeltely i should loose at least 4lbs per week, especially if i drink all the water.

Im going to the gym at least 4 times a week and working on cardio more then anything else to get my heart pumping etc.. just got a work out dvd so will be using that at home too.

Just wondering if anyone else got any other ideas that might help this weight go? I need to do this because otherwise some people have said that they wont pay me the sponsership money unless i get to the target weight. :(

Also has anyone got any ideas how i can stop thinking about food?
would make it a hell of a lot easier. :(

Hey Pinky...

600 cals a day, that's tough I don't know how you do it!!! I don't have any real advice I guess just stick to the plan til the end of Feb and see how it goes, you are already doing exceptionally well!!

As for thinking about food... I pick up the phone, or go out for a walk, distract myself, start cleaning as much as i don't want to sometimes LOL!

Hope that helps
take care

Keep yourself busy! Get a new hobby. Maybe get into a sport you like. You can both burn cals and keep your mind off food.

Are you sure your not having trouble loosing weight b/c your cals are so low?? Combine the low cals w/ all the excersize...I just dont' think your getting enough hun. THey drop big time weight on biggest looser and they eat at least 1200 cals.

I dont' know what to tell ya hun, I"m sorry

Yeah Pinky I'm worried, 600 is going to disrupt your ability to lose :( Hate to see that happen girl!!

As for distractions from food, taking up hobbies is a great thing to do! Knitting is a wonderful one I feel, because it keeps my hands busy, that way I can't be using them to stick food in my mouth at the same tiem!! Also.. we are all here rooting for you. So don't hesitate to PM one of us or post in your journal, we'll be all supporting you!!

Hi, Pinky!

I don't know much about your plan, but 600 cals/day sounds like a quickest way to starvation mode. No wonder you're always hungry! Your metabolism has probably slowed down if you're eating that little, and that's why your weight loss is so slow.

NL is right - knitting or anything that would occupy your hands does help. Doing something that you really love, a hobby, also helps. Going for a walk helps. Basically, anything that does not involve sitting down. That's when I find it is harder to deal with hunger, and easier to give in to it.

I know you have unique situation with sponsorship and this diet, but to be honest, I think you're tourturing your body if you're eating that little, and it may end up being really bad for your health. If you screw up your metabolism, or any of your organs, it will take very long time to fix. Personally I would not do it because doing anything bad to my health is not worth any money.

I wish you all the best. Hope this will all end well.

why do you have to lose it so fast? 3 weeks for 18 pounds? what kind of sponsored diet is this anyway? doesnt even sound medically safe.

ive been on this fod replacment thing to loose the weight.. and i gave myself a time limit to loose all the weight (being 2 stone) in 3 months.. which if the diet is stuck to would have been enough time. But because i have had a few mishaps where some weeks i havent lost anything, or ive gone overboard and put on weight.. it now means that i have to loose 18lbs by the 1st of march. Im really struggling.. but i so want to do this because the money is going towards the charity of the disease that my grandfather died of.. and i don't want to give anyone an excuse not to pay me. :(

I can understand you're frustration of wanting ot meet that goal, especially since it's from your charity. But would your grandfather have wanted you to do something terribly harmful to your body? Eating 600 calories is unbelievable unhealthy. It's horrifying. Your body will quickly go in to starvation mode, because it thinks it's dying...which it slowly is. Your body will preserve every ounce of fat it can and use your precious muscle mass for fuel.
As a trainer I've worked with women who have eaten low calorie diets like this. They end up gaining all the weight they lost and thensome back, because quick weight loss does not stay off. Their metabolisms become so destroyed that they have terrible difficulty losing weight no matter how hard they try. I have to work with them on lengthy metabolism recovery programs. But no matter what I can't help them undo some of the damage they've done to their organs.
I understand your tricky situation, but please don't harm yourself.

To be honest.. Im sticking with this diet for the next 2 weeks or so as much as possible.. so that i can loose the weight in the short amount of time.. then im switching to their 'maintenance' program.. where i start eating healthy food again in small amounts. The weight loss will be much slower but im glad of that. Im bored of this diet now.. the only reason i was on it was so that i could loose the weight in a quick amount of time.

Plus i have come to the conclusion that if i don't loose the weight in time.. i will just have to bug people to pay me anyways. Afterall it is for charity. :D Also.. my mum is going to be collecting a lot of the money from people at home, so they wont actually see me until much later when i go back home for the holidays.. and i would have definatly reached my target by then. :)

Hopefully everything is going to be alright.. but this new challenge might help me along a bit. :)

I promise that im not going to harm myself doing this.. also ive picked up a lifestyle change of going to the gym at least 3 times a week. Its all good.. kinda.. maybe.. getting there. haha

sounds like you're loosing weight for a good reason~ but not the right reason. if you want to loose weight to be healthy then do it slowly and do it for you~ dont' stress yourself for loosing weight so quickly b/c it's not healthy for you(and being stressed isnt' good either).
and eat normal for goodness sake~ I still eat things that's not exactly on the diet menu~ but I portion myself and have control of how much and what I eat~ and I've lost almost over 80 pounds so far~ =) starvation isnt' the key to healthy weight loss~

well, good luck though! ;) I hope things go good for you~<3
