i passed out today

I'm glad to hear you're being checked over.

I will say that the EKG monitoring they do in the office is not enough of an accurate reading. The best way is to have the 24 hour holster monitor.

The problem that caused my husbands blacking out would not have been found with such a short EKG reading that you get in the doctor's office.

Best of luck to you and again, I'm really glad you're having it checked out!

Ive had an irregular heartbeat that I've had since birth and wasn't discovered until high school - kept me out of the naval academy too :( It's really no big deal but when it's your heart your dealing with - better safe than sorry....

good for you for going to the doctor...

For now, stop taking the hot showers.

Do you have low blood pressure? If you have do, taking a hot bath or shower (or sauna) could make you pass out.

A few years ago, when I had started running a lot, this happened to me. I had really low blood pressure to begin with but the heavy exercise made it drop even further (60/80). I'd get really dizzy and nauseous after hot showers and baths. A couple times I almost passed out afterwards.

What happens is the heat causes your arteries and veins to dilate, and that makes someone with lower blood pressure pass out (especially afterwards when the hot water is cut off). It's also good to avoid super hot showers and baths, because they can do damage to arteries/veins (espeically the ones in your extremities) which makes you more suseptible to cold weather.

Did they rule out the flu?
Meningitis?

Did you have a fever?

Just something to think about. Besides the low calories and heavy lifting, you could have a virus.

they were really unconcerned with me being sick...they didnt even write me any kind of perscreption for it...figures...i go in with a cold and leave with heart problems hahaha

i'll update tomorrow after they do the ultrasound thing

i got the ultrasound and the bloodwork...i wont know anything for a couple weeks till i go back to the regular doctors office and review everything...the lady doing the ultrasound said everything looked good

Glad to hear that everything looked ok - and that wait for the actual results is annoying isn't it?

At least you're having all the tests done. Should anything like that happen again, and if you're driving, you will at least have the peace of mind that you took steps to see if there was a problem.
