i need to loss 40 lbs. and have a bmi of 22%

hey everybody im new to the forum and i need help. A little about myself i am 25 going on 26 in June about 1 year ago i started going to title boxing gym with a friend it was great and still is great the classes are 1 hr and consist of 15 min warm-up were they have us do bur-pees push ups squats thing like that then 8 3 min rounds with 1 min rest in between and then 15 min core workout. i stared at 270 and so are i have lost 60lbs and am felling good. i recently decide that i want to join the navy and the maximum weight requirement for me is 170 with a bmi of 22%. i have up-ed my workout to doing a class then a 20 min interval run then another class then a 30 min interval run.i try to do this monday wednesday thrusday Saturday and sunday some days i still go but dont do my whole workout. i do interval runs because i find it hard to run consistently on a treadmill and i need to run a 1.5 miles in under 14 min so i figured interval training will help me get there right now when i do run outside i keep a steady pace at run it in a little under 15 min. also if this helps my diet is ok but for the most part i eat a yogurt with fruit and granola in the morning, chicken and veggies for lunch and dinner is sometimes up in the air but mostly chicken and veggies and i drink almost 3 liters of water a day. so what i need help with i was in the gym yesterday and one of the trainers know my workout and he has said before that i am doing to much cardio, and once again said that and what i am doing is counter productive.he doesnt know that i want to join the navy that why i am running but he said if i want to loss weight i need to do weight training and if this is true i can run a 1.5 in 12 min and it still wont get me in because of my weight. now he is a good guy but he is a personal trainer and make a living showing people how to work out so other then telling me to do weight training tat all the advice he gave me so i did some biceps curls and some shoulder presses with 30 lbs weights and after that was lost so i gave up and went home. so is this true and is my workout counter productive? should i add weights to my workout if so can someone point me in the direction of a weight routeen or a website. and sorry for the long story i have read some forum threads were people ask question and i figured i will just try to answer them all at once but if you do need more info on me ask away. any help would be greatly appreciated. and lastly idk how you guys feel about it but anyone ever take clenbuterol?

Hey there, BK! It's hard to say whether your work is counter productive...but I can say with great confidence that integrating weights into your routine is a better way to lose weight than straight cardio. I started doing a workout program that involved both cardio and weights and I lost 20lbs pretty quickly (and I wasn't really even trying to lose weight, but rather to get toned). Completely fixed up my nutrition, too, which is a HUGE part of losing weight. Happy to tell you more about it if you'd like...I've had a lot of success with it this past year. Let me know! I'm at jfrofitness@gmail.com or facebook.com/jfrofro

Talk soon,
Jason
