Hi,
So currently i weigh 13 stone exactly (182 lb) and im 5ft 10. Im losing weight ok, i can lose 2lb a week without really trying, but thats not the problem. The problem is cardio exercise. Ive started the "couch to 5k" program and on the first 2 weeks of that you are supposed to:
Do a 5 minute brisk walk warm up
Jog for 1 minute
Brisk walk for 90 seconds
Jog for 1 minute
Brisk walk for 90 seconds
And repeat until you have jogged/walked 20 minutes worth.
My problem is i can only do that for about 10 minutes tops, before my legs start to ache because they are getting tired and i get out of breath so i dont go any further because you shouldnt go over your limit.
So how am i supposed to get fit if i cant handle the first week? On the plan itself it says "dont be kean to skip the first weeks and get onto the harder stuff", well i dont want to because the first week IS the hard stuff for me. So what should i do? I did do a lot of cycling since i started this diet and my endurance hasnt gone up that much, most of which is probably just because im over a stone lighter now, not really because im getting fit, because i dont feel like i am. My breathing increases even when i reach the top of the stairs!
I dont get it really, am i missing something vitally important in my diet which helps you stay fit? Because im getting worried!
Please reply.
