I am a female...weigh 298lbs...am 22 years old...I have heard of 1200-1300 calorie diets...and I just don't know..I don't want my body to go into starvation mode. I am currently working out every day. I do treadmill one day..burn about 200 cal..and a jillian michales dvd shred it with weights...and use a 3 pound d-bell...If I do go on a 1300 calorie diet..do I have to make up the calories I burned by eating more? Please help...and please I would appreciate if negative comments where kept to selves. :)

hello soly

whatever u doing u must continue and in the mean while u have to make changes in ur life style...change in ur eating habits for the rest of the life and the timings are very important....

sleep early and get up early in the morning and take breakfast till 8.

every time try to eat healthy.

here some foods which burn the fats very fast

I eat approximately 1250 calories a day and I'm never hungry.

Anyway, here's what I eat:

Breakfast: 1.3 cups of honey nut cheerios and 1 cup of soy milk vanilla (291 calories)

Snack: 100 calorie bag of popcorn

Lunch: Grilled Cheese and turkey sandwich and 1 oz of lay's light potato chips (340 calories)

Dinner: Two Taco's only with ground beef and a cup of apple juice (497 calories)

Total: 1228 calories

First of all congrats on deciding to get healthy! I wouldn't worry so much about calories, focus on serving sizes. Eat every two to three hours to avoid your body going into starvation mode and holding onto the fat. Many people think if they eat less its better but just pick healthier options. 3 sensible meals ie chicken, salmon, pork chop (any protein really) 1 serving of carbs (ie 1 potato, 1 cup pasta, 1/2 cup rice) and 2 or 3 servings veggies and eat 2 or 3 snacks a day (anything you want, even chips opt for healthier but a few now and then is fine, as long as it is between 100 and 200 calories, 100 calorie snack packs are great!) and watch the fat you're adding to veggies and pastas. Hope this helps. I've lots 25lbs in 2 months. Good luck and stay strong! Oh and LOTS of water!

Hi Soly!!!!!

That is great that you are working out everyday!!! Keep it up and increase your time or incline or speed on the treadmill every week. Each and every little change makes a HUGE difference and you will start seeing results faster! Also, you DO NOT need to eat more calories to make up for the calories you burned. Buring more calories than what you take in is how you burn FAT faster!!!! It's hard in the beginning but stick with it and it will become easier each day. As far as what you consume eats lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. It's ok to eat meat too just keep the portions small and limit it to no more than one serving a day. Also, just stick to chicken and fish grilled or steamed only. I got my results by sticking to a low calorie, high nutrient diet plus interval training. I simply subtituted one to two meals a day with a low calorie, high nutrient meal replacement shake, fruit as a snack in between breakfast and lunchand lunch and dinner, and a healthy low calorie dinner, high in protein.(grilled chicken salad with a non-fat dressing, (balsamic vinaigrette). And for my workout, 30 to 45 minutes on the treadmill. For 5 minutes bring your heart rate up to where you feel slighty uncomfortable, then after 5 minutes slow the treadmill down and bring your heart rate back down. Do this over and over for 30 to 45 minutes until you feel comfortable increasing your time. I hope this helps!

Hi, I lost 120 lbs and you need a perfect balance of proper nutrition, cardio and muscle building. 1200-1300 may not be enough calories to not only get your metabolism going but to feel the muscles properly to burn fat. I do p90x 6 days per week and eat a very clean, high protein diet of 1500-1600 calories a day. Suppliments really help in reaching the protein requirements needed for proper weight training. processed food, packed and high sodium foods should be avoided. Whole grains only with very low carbs limited to 1 serving a day. 1 serving of fruit as well since it's a carb with natural sugars.

Thank you all soooo very much!! This is the first thread I make. I was kind of nerveous of getting negative commments...I'm so happy to see so many positive ones. Thank you! I ordered dvd workout...I don't know if any of you have heard of it...it's "Turbo jam fat blaster" I wanted to start a new workout routine with this video...I'm having a hard time coming up with a routine...for example I want to do workouts everyday!!! But I heard your body needs 1 day of rest...personally for me..Since I don't do much much I really don't need that day off..but if I really need to I will...I want to do ...treadmill...video...and maybe some strength training..I don't want to bulk..don't know if that is even possible for a female lol..But I'm already pretty big because of my weight...but I heard strength training excercises will help a lot for weight loss...any suggestions? :))
