Solafide55...I take exception to your "BS" remark. If you had read my post you would have seen that I specifically mentioned that I wrote down my workouts and I had witnesses. I have not lied about my physical activity. Otherwise what would be the point of posting?

Don't take offense to it. What I was trying to say was that there was something missing from your story. You weren't giving us the full details. Either you were over exaggerating your exercise or your diet is atrocious. You've admitted it was your diet. But not to fear there are plenty of threads on here that discuss caloric intake and diet. Read up on a few and start trying to change your diet. Take is slow and if you stay motivated you can reach your goals.

Ive already made a number of the changes you all have mentioned and yes I am very serious. I am only looking to lose about 1/2 pound a week. I know this doesnt sound like much but I think it is VERY attainable and my ultimate goal is to continue to lose for the next few years and keep it off for ever. I did not get fat over night so I can not expect to get thin in a month. I have started to take a couple of hard boiled eggs (no yokes) and fruit to work which I eat in the morning So I am not as hungry in the late afternoon / evening.

Thank you all for the encouragement and advise.

I have read this whole thread and have to agree that its at least 80% nutrition, and not the brownie and snickers diet in another post.

Until I had a professional get my head on straight about changing lifestyles and proper nutrition and the right kind if exercise........I struggled for years.

I watched a heavy girl at the gym work out hard for 2 years and never lose a pound. Then one day I saw her leave the gym and go to the same restaurant that I was going to. We were both alone so we ended up sharing a table. I ordered grilled mahi mahi with steamed veggies, and a salad w/fat free dressing on the side...she started with an Onion Blossum, followed by a bacon cheesburger with fries and then an ice cream sunday. The entire time she complained that all this exercise did was make her hungry and that she never lost weight...........she commented on how well I was doing....but never asked what I was doing. If she would have looked at our plates, the answer was there.
