Hi, i am 22 yo, 5'5", 132lbs and my goal is 115lbs...
i am chubby overall... with very flabby arms (butterfly arms)... very chubby stomach... thighs... are ok... but my calves are a bit bulky...

i started to do cardio 20-40 mins a day on different machines (i rotate between elliptical, treadmill and arc trainer) and i do weight training after my cardio (i read the labels on the machine and use the ones that concentrate on my arms, chest, butt)

i know that in order to lose fat/weight... spot reduction won't work for me... i need to do cardio to burn off the fat...

my quesiton is... when should i introduce weight training into my routine ie. ab workout, chest press etc... should i do cardio until im close to my goal THEN start using weights to shape up?

or should i do weight traing and ab exercises in combo with cardio for it to work better?

if so... what machines/weight training should i do for flabby arms, stomach and "lifting" my butt (my butt is kind of flat... but wide)
p.s. if i want to "tighten" my bust/chest... will chest press etc work for me?

thanks!!

April.

Definetly add weight training now. It will speed up your metabolism and help you burn more calories throughout the day. It will also add nice shape and definetion to your body.

For me I like free weights best for weight training. For butt my favorite's are straight leg deadlift, stepups and lunges. For bust I like dumbbell bench presses and dumbbell flyes. For arms I like dumbbell curls and hammer curls. Stomach I do situps on an incline.

Check out bodybuilding.com for exercises and info. Also Body For Life has a good website with printable exercises.

With the little bit of weight that you have to lose by adding weight training you will be seeing results in no time!
