I know everything, but it dont help

That's also solid. Right abear? :) I got wrapped up in waterbury, once i get bored (no time soon) i'm sure i will be looking over the dual factor, I did scan over it a few weeks ago. Its all good. [thumbs up]

Mods we need a thumbs up emoticon.

btw i never see any mods here, is this forum monitored at all?

i've come to the conclusion that i've gone as far as i can with single factor bodybuilding type stuff. now i'm learning that all this information in the above thread has been out there for years, before most of us were even born. its how the majority train. the bodybuilding magazine type stuff while good to start with gets laughed at by many who know better. bodybuilders use drugs as a stimulus, we have to use training as the stimulus.

manokent, i know how you feel when you say you're getting excited. thats exactly how i feel now and cant wait to take all this and put it into action. :)

abear, i have to disagree that waterbury's routines are typical of what you'll see in a bodybuilding mag. If that's what you meant, to be quite honest you peaked my interest on single/dual factor training, i don't know what your talking about frankly lol.

However, I do agree that most are based around roid and genetic freaks. That's why they don't work that good for average trainees.

lol Ok, dude. :)

You peaked my interest away, the reason i never gave dual factor a good read because it stated (i think) that you should have a few years experience, solid. While i first hit the weights at a young age i have had extended periods between training and about 2 years ago i was in the worst shape of my life so i never dissected the info.

Thanks for the peak :D

Geez abear i need some brain energy to perfom my workouts all this info is going to burn me out lol

Joking dude, first i seen this site, thanks.

Jenn - nice one, there pretty good scores. You out saving lives yet or are you a 3rd hand? I got a call the other day, I got through to the exams butits not till next April!!! oh well, guess i'll just have to swat up. gonna do some 1st aid corses just to make my application stringer.

Abear - thanks for the links. I did post on elite fitness for a while but all the Roids adds just got on my nerves. I found it hard to see though the lies and adverts. I'll print off all that info and sit down with my girl to plan a new work out routine.

This is the most helpful link ive ever read. And I started it!!! Im so proud of myself.

Anyway thanks guys for al the help, this is what forums are all about. It good not to have to keep answering silly question from noobs all the time (no offence to noobs reading this).

Its hard to get into serious weight training in England cos nobody knows what there talking about. My girlfriend is great with diet and fitness but they dont teach serious weight training in the gym industry. The only way to get any knowledge is to buy muscle and fitness mag and books from the net. Thats what I did but you can only go so far with it.

Thanks again.

Any one not involved with the nuts debate in the weight training forum should deff check it out. topic is - Bulking Routine (Critiques please!)

hey manofkent, thanks man. yeah i'm out there doing my thing, saving lives on everything in between. lol . good luck on your testing all the first aid you can do will help. if you want i can send you some of my prehospital syllabus to look over so you can see what it is you'll be studying.. if you want pm me.

I'm late responding but the 5X5 is outlined here (I'm sure that's one of the links that Abear posted) and the Dual Factor Strenth Training and the Dual FActor Hypertrophy Training is here.

Plus a nice Westside tweak for beginners (I almost highly recommend this over the 5X5)

I was wondering if it might help to stop weight training all together for a month or two, then hopefully when i start training the muscle will build fast again. Thats just a stupid idea isnt it?

Don't stop training because if you let it go for more than 3 or 4 weeks you lose EVERYTHING that you ever gained...

3 weeks? Come on dude, that's a load of sh*t. You mean someone who's been lifting for years and has a lot of lean muscle and can bench a ton....you tellin me after 3 weeks they are gonna lose all of that and go back to a beginner and only be able to bench 50lbs??

i post on alot of boards but not over there. as i was searching around, thats one of the thing i found. which led to something else, and that led to something else, so on and so forth.

now i have a whole list of new ideas to keep me going for a long time. :)

menshealth
mensfitness
bodybuilding
discussfitness
discussbodybuilding
healthboards
jpfitness
bodybuildingforyou

menshealth is where i post mostly at. i have over 5000 posts over there. if i didnt work behind a desk, i wouldnt post anywhere near as much

to get back on topic, also look into grip training. the first article chad waterbury wrote for t-nation was a grip article.

then, what do you do on off days? if you say "off", try something different. check out waterburys "100 reps to bigger muscles". read up on josh henkin, dan john, etc. sled pulling, wheelbarrows, etc. henkin has a good GPP article at bodybuilding.com

plan out your training cycles in advance to have a rough idea of what you want to do. i'm already thinking about my routines for next summer.
