I just can't seem to lose anymore weight?!?!

Hi guys and girls.

I've over the last 6months changed my life in a big way, 6 months ago I decided to get into my fighting shape. And it has been going really well to be honest, but now there has been about 2 months where I just can't seem to lose any weight.

I've lost 35kg(77lbs) so far putting me at a total weight of 115kg(253lbs). I'm about 198cm(6'6) tall and 17 years old. I was a big guy wanting to play American Football(I'm from europe) But I'm over that now and I just want to be healthy and do other stuff in life.

I'm at the same weight I was 2months ago, never stopped eating healthy or stopped working out, I actually started working out more, But it doesn't change that I can't seem to lose anymore weight.

A normal day for me is me eating around 1100 calories, them being breakfast - snack(fruit) - lunch - snack(fruit) - dinner - snack(fruit).

As for my workout I do 10 minutes of jump ropes, and then I ride my bike for 20-30 minutes right after(at a high speed)

The last week I've weighed myself a lot to see if it's my metabolism going down. But it's as good as it ever was.

What can I do to keep losing weight?

Not sure how you expect to tract your metabolism by weighing yourself, for home use only body temperature springs to mind as a viable metabolism test (the body runs cooler on a slowed metabolism)

your low calorie count combined with your exercise puts you squarely in starvation mode, increase your calories to 1600 at least (expect a little short term weight gain until your body accepts it's not being starved any more) and consider eating some of your exercise calories to keep the total above 1200.

So basically I just have to eat a little bit more? Is there anything in particular I should try eating, more fats or carbs? Or just increase the calorie count?

Just make them healthy calories into your main meals. Lean meats would be my choice for protein.

Hey Klikey =]

I sent you a PM.

Incase you didn't receive it - I'd like to add that if you only eat 1,100 Calories your body ESPECIALLY at your size and age - your body will only be in starvation mode.

Granted that you're eating healthy foods but you won't lose weight if your body is stuck in starvation mode.

The best way to approach this is to start at around 1,800 Calories and slowly reduce your calories day by day.

Even then that's a low calorie amount.

If you can I encourage you to eat more healthy calories! and exercise a lot more!

PM me if you'd like more tips.

Thanks, I'll try that then. Already made my plan for the following week, I really hope this changes everything, I just want to lose the rest of this.

Hey there Klikey,

I replied to your PM and since I'm new on these forums I guess I hit my max amount of mails per day.

I sent you an email.

Other than that,

Anyone who reads this thread needs to understand that starving yourself isn't going to do it.

Your body doesn't know the difference between a diet and starving - so when you don't feed your body appropriately then your body will conserve any calories you do get. This will make it harder and harder to lose weight PLUS you will hit a plateaue and get discouraged.

The way around this is again - to eat healthy amount of calories needed and then slowly reduce the calories and try to exercise.

You have no IDEA how many benefits you get by simply running or doing some sort of activity that gets your heart pumping.

Stay Healthy My Friends.
