I just can't motivate myself..

I'm trying to lose weight and tone up but I can't ever be bothered to be motivated enough to get up and do something about it. I dont have a gym membership so I workout at home. I'm 20 years old, female, 5ft2 and about 130 lbs. Every time I do cardio I get so short winded that I just give up, so I think that's one of the reasons why I am not motivated. What sort of home workouts should I do and for long a day? Should I do cardio daily? I need so much help it's not even funny =[

Can't? Or won't? Seriously, you're not unable to make yourself exercise, you choose not to. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: if you wait for motivation to get you moving, you'll never start. But if you do start, you'll stop shortly afterwards, because motivation comes by surprise and leaves as soon as the surprise has worn off.

Now, instead of waiting for motivation to come knocking and then hoping it'll stick around, figure out what you need to do, schedule in a time each day to do it, and then follow through.

Cardio doesn't need to be be hard enough to leave you winded. If getting winded makes you want to give up, then choose activities that won't leave you winded. Go for a walk. Walk at a purposeful pace 3 non-consecutive days per week. If you've got dogs, take them for a walk. If you're on your own, listen to some music while you're walking, or better yet, download some audio-books and listen to them. Start off with walking 20min, and increase that duration if you feel like it. 3 other non-consecutive days per week, do some circuit training: bodyweight squats, incline push ups, inverted rows, glute bridges and incline planks should be sufficient exercises to get you started. Do 10-20 reps of each (or 45-90 sec of planks) for 2-5 rounds of the circuit. This will be sufficient resistance training to keep you going for the first month or two. In that time, spend some time looking into your local gyms or equipment to get at home (personally, I'd recommend the gym membership over home equipment for someone starting out -- home equipment is of no value to someone who isn't using it, and a good home gym set-up isn't cheap; meanwhile most gyms cost $10-20/wk). All good gyms use olympic barbells and have squat racks and/or power racks. If you find a gym that doesn't have these things, you've found a substandard gym. All gyms are usable, but those with olympic barbells and squat racks are better.

Your post is a bit vague, but there are some very simple things to help reduce weight which wont leave you breathless and will yield results.

*Focusing on your meal times, ensuring you eat breakfast early, and don't eat late at night
*Going for a walk after dinner. It doesn't need to be long, 15 minutes around a couple blocks half an hour after dinner
*A 5-10 minute bodyweight workout when you wake up. It only needs to be a set of lunges, squats, pushups, situps (those last 2 are the worst, sometimes hard be motivated to do those)

Just little things to get started, and you'll find it a lot easier to build on them. Weight loss and management aren't about diets or huge weight loss schemes. They are about lifestyle changes.

You should get yourself motivated. To have that, always bear four things in mind that will help you with your journey to fitness...
FOOD FITNESS SUPPLEMENTS & MINDSET
By incorporating these on your daily basics, you will have a fully motivated version of yourself.
Read motivational quotes and picture yourself with that sexy body. I was once like you...I tried with personal coaching so I know I am doing things right.

just think of the end results. Think about a month down the road. That is what I did to lose weight. I just kept thinking about the future and how badly I wanted it. Don't give up because if you do and months ago by you will think about this "what would have I looked like if i continued to work out"

I recommend you check out a website called . As a Wello user, you can workout live with athletic professionals over two way live video. You just need internet connection and a webcam! I found the website about two weeks ago and have done 4 workouts so far. It has been fantastic. I think Wello would really help you out because the trainer keep you accountable and motivated. Best of all, you don't need any workout equipment and you don't need to leave your home.

There is a really cool app for your phone that you tell it when you to to the gym and if you don't go it will take some money out of your bank but if you go you get rewarded so YAY!

Just keep moving! I found its the little things that will help, take the stairs, not the lift, do some squats whilst you brush your teeth, use your energy however you can, and your stamina will improve, once some weight comes off, you will have less to carry around with you all day and you should be able to begin a more demanding fitness schedule.
Good luck

Get Moving and plan outdoorsy activities!

i think your problem is working at home which can get boring after some time. plan some movement oriented activities that you basically like, for a start. push yourself to go out for walks even though this sounds too little it will propel your mind and body to increased exercise. cycling, running or walking in areas where you find a lot of crowd can bring a change in the routine and keep you positively motivated. of course you should follow this with a re-charting of your diet plan and force yourself to get membership of a gym or yoga..get started now!!
