Hi!
...Let me introduce myself :)

I'm a 19 year old female.
I've been out of highschool for two years and packed on some pounds while in college. Disapointing because i entered highschool as a chubby little thing and lost it all in highschool (yay!) but gained all of it plus some back as my priorities shifted when i started paying for University.... :( *expensive!! *

Well, i just finished that (for a while at least!!), have a boyfriend, looking for a job........ life is good! i just want to lose this college weight, it makes me feel chub chub again and i dont want to gain more as i start working! My bf likes the bit of stuff to hold onto and says it is much better than "being a stick" but it makes me feel uncomfortable with myself as im not so used to it. I for sure dont want to go stick-ly, but I would like to lose like 20-30 lbs.
Im about 5' 11" and 165-170ish lbs. sometimes pushing it. I know not crazy overweight, but i at least should tone it up so it doesnt look so chub chuby-ish type of weight gain.

Is 140 lbs an unreasonably goal for by the end of the year? :blush5:

Looking forward to reading your posts from now on! :) bye!

Hello!

Welcome to the forum!

To answer the last question first, to have lost 30 lbs by the end of the year (that is if you use the "high" current weight) is completely reasonable and within the 1-2 lbs per week category that is often recommended.

Actually per the BMI calculations for your height you are within the normal category for your weight with a rating of around 23.7. At 140 you would be one BMI point above underweight with a 19.5. My understanding is that a range of ~22 is optimum for anyone (if this is wrong someone let me know) which would put you around 157 give or take. The bottom line is though, if you want that to be your goal, you could do it in a healthy way by the end of the year.

Anyway, great to have you and hope you enjoy your stay!

yup, lowest bmi in normal is 18.5 so that would mean the lowest i could go is 133........ i think i might look super tall then haha

Hey there. Welcome. I think your goals are great and it sounds like something that's very achievable.

Be sure and read the stickie posts in all the various areas of the boards to get info on exercise and nutrition and so forth.
