I have a lot to lose

Hi all, I stand out a bit here because I'm not fit at all.
I used to be, I ran for my school (1500m/5000m)and dived for my county, it doesn't seem like long ago but I'm 24 now!!
I had my son 6 years ago, I suffered from post natal depression (poor excuse I know) for some years and my weight shot up to 16st8 (I'm 5'1)!
I've joined weight watchers recently and I'm now 15st3 which is still huge, my goal is 8st8.
I'm planning to start and exercise plan, I'm not intending to join a gym or spend any money as I'm a single parent.
I'm here for inspiration if there's any going?

Well the good news is that proper nutrition can be had for less money than you would spend on crap. The other good news is that the biggest cost as a single parent is time. If you can find the time you can meet your goals. Whether going for a jog or doing bodyweight excercises, you can make yourself into what you want.

And you are certain to find inspiration here.

Hi and welcome. There are lots of things you can do to get into shape without having to pay for a gym. A brisk walk around the block, even, is better than nothing. Congrats on taking the first step in your journey. :)

Well hello there. :D

...and welcome!

The best thing you can do for yourself is educate yourself with the use of this board. This place is a limitless source of knowledge and experience.

Many will tell you that diet is #1 in fitness and it is!

A proper workout regimen accompanied with a sound diet will make you reach the fitness level you've always wanted.

Find what motivates you...

-Music.
-Your kids.
-A friend that is also fitness oriented.
-Results.
-The feeling of being in shape.

Use everything and put every bit of knowledge, persistence and motivation by your side and before you know it you will be where you want to be!

The best piece of advice I can give you is: STICK TO IT.

Make fitness a lifestyle and keep it. You have nothing to lose (except a little extra weight ;) ) and everything to gain!

Now...drop down and give me 20!

:D

Good day

Eric

thanks guys, well I just got a new saddle for my bike (last one was like a rock) so I'll be cycle everywhere I go alone from now on.
I also know someone who works at the local pool so i can get in for free so that should be a good start.
Other than that I'll just be dancing by big ass off at every oppotunity :D

Dancing is great - its aerobics.

Like what the others said, just keep active. It should be a life change.

Hope you achieve your dream weight soon :)
