I guess you could call it an intro...

Hello, I am an internet addict and an overweight person. Seems those terms go hand in hand. I've been a member on most fitness sites of one form or another and am tired of being ridiculed by some members on such sites. They are the people that believe if you can't run 2 miles without stopping you shouldn't be in a gym.

I guess a person could say there comes a time when you realize its just too much. Too much food, too much tv, too much whatever. I've reached that point.

I've been unemployed for six months, I won't go into details but lets just say its been one thing after another and I'm real good at making excuses. And for those six months I've been rather sedentary.

Yay, more weight to lose.

I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. I was always the fat kid that everyone made fun of in elementary school, middle school and high school. I am here to tell you that if you are told something long enough, you begin to believe it. You believe it long enough, you begin to become it. Once you become it its damn near impossible to break free of it.

This is my attempt at breaking free of it.

Anyway, I'm a 6'5" 310ish (haven't been on the scale in a while) male that is looking to get down to 250 or lower if possible with no real timeframe in mind. I would like to be there by christmas, but in all reality I just want to be that light by the time I decide to take my relationship with a wonderful woman I met a few years ago to the next level.

Thank you to anyone that actually took the time to read this drivel :seeya:

welcome to the website :)

I think i started out on an exercycle and could only o 5-10 mins at most! Yet now a couple years down the track ive just signed up for my second 160km road race, and ive done HEAPS of other road racing and am usually in the first couple of bunches at the finish line!.

Anyway I understand about computers, I was so addicted i ended up working in the industry (read: hard core Linux/UNIX geek). But there are times you just need to motivate yourself off the computer to do things. Taking weekends away WITHOUT a computer is the best way to start. You dont realize how addicted you are until you do that :)

Anyway good luck!

Welcome! What part of Wyoming do you live in? I lived in the Evanston/Bridger valley area for many, many years.

Born and raised in Evanston, currently spending time all over the state. "Live" in Laramie, have a girlfriend in Casper, and my parents are in Evanston.

We may have to compare notes via PM...wyoming doesn't have that many people in the whole darn state...and I ran a daycare and a karaoke show there. Odds are I would know your folks or you might know my kid or his pals....
