I feel guilt

So I've lost 85 lbs to date. I reached my goal weight 2 weeks ago and rather than feeling elation at what I've accomplished, I felt guilt. Huh?
My partner of 10 years is overweight; somehow, I feel like I have abandoned her in my journey -leaving a trail of size 22 jeans and XXL t-shirts.
So, is it normal to feel this way?

I don't know if it's normal or not. It's not the way I feel. I feel that I am setting a better example, and I am not bringing a lot of junk food home to tempt anybody with. So, I feel less guilt, if anything.

First off, congrats on getting to your goal weight!

I have never been in your situation so I don't know if it's normal or not but is she trying to lose weight as well and you just lost it faster? Or is she not trying? If she's trying I could probably understand a bit of the guilt, but if she isn't I see no reason to feel guilty, just be proud of yourself! :)

I think you're normal. I also think your partner is normal. Just be as supportive as you can be.....and be proud of yourself that you can now be the motivator.
You can lead by example.
The hard part for them is they may see themselves faced with a possibility of failure if they try to lose weight....and since you already lost your weight, it may be a harder challenge for them.
Thats my take. My wife lost alot of weight a few years back and I wasnt ready to lose weight so I was uncomfortable with it. But she did whatever she could to reassure me that she didnt change...she only lost weight.

Hope you guys make out ok.
