I am the classic case who wants to lose weight, Gain Muscle, Vegatarian! all details

Hi People of this wonderful Fitness forum!
I will get straight to the point in what I hope you can assist me in.
Here are some key points which may help:

-I am 16 yrs of age and am Male, I have been going to the Gym on an average of 2 times week doing 1hour to 1h 30mins sessions for the past 2 months and intend to continue but maybe move up to 3/4 times a week.
I usually am pretty worn out after that and really do push myself.

-I am Vegetarian and have a feeling that I may not be getting any where near enough protein seeing as just about my only source of protein appears to be (sheeps) cheese and (goats) Milk, I don't have much Dairy produce because it's what I'm used to.

- I don't really appear fat or bulky, infact I think it's fair to say I look alright, I think I just have some excess fat which maybe needs to go before I gain more muscle as apparently a layer of fat would make the muscle un-noticeable. I checked out a Body Fat Calculator on the net and it said I have a Body Fat of around 13.5%, I could be wrong seeing as it said 13.5 is like an athlete (wtf?), so here's the details
Weight:70kg (11 stone, 154 pounds)
Height:5 Ft 9.5"
Wrist: 6"
Forearm: 10"
Waist: 31"
Hips: 32"

-My ultimate goal is to gain noticeable muscle by the Summer which doesn't seem too unrealistic!? and offcourse to feel better about myself, healthier lifestyle, etc.

If Anyone could help then that would be brilliant!

Many Thanks,
Rob.

Well statistically Vegetarians are healthier, offcourse we do lack on the proteins so it's not all that good for body building.

Well in the moral aspect there are animal friendly ways to get eggs and milk to make up a complete protein source. However if that isn't a possibility for you then I recommend complementary protein combinations. People can argue to the death about what constitutes a complete protein source and what the recommended body need for it is. The simple truth is if you are going to lift you need more protein to counter act muscle damage and to repair torn muscle. Using a complementary protein method is the best way to go if you don't eat any meat sources. Here is a link for the vegetarian food pyramid, basically go by that (though I would go with a slight higher fat source) and you should get by just fine.

also as you are not avegan you can supplement your diet with whey . However is your only reason for being a vegetarian that you have a statisically better chance at being healthier?

Nuts and Dance Mats!

Hey,
Thanks for this help.
I've always been vegetarian, partly because my family is vegetarian, although I have no urges to eat meats or anything seeing as Vegy is what I'm used to.
My mum says she'd have no issue with me "Turning to the evil doers side" (joke)
Nah, it probs sound rather childish but the first issue with being a meat eater is what would my parents think, but My Parents really do say they don't mind as long as there isn't meat in the house so it isn't so much I'm vegy because of the Health side of things (as it is hardly helping now is it!) it is more because I don't like the idea of Farming animals and such but I won't get into that.
Fact is I'm Vegy and there is a lot of proteins in Nuts form what I've heard, the idea of just eating nuts isn't a hugely attractive proposition to me but if it is the way forward then so be it.
Something interesting I've noticed after making a smoothie type thing yesterday out of alot of proteins and such; is I haven't chewed my nails since drinking it, so it shows I must lack proteins.
I just had another smoothie today which is high in proteins, maybe I should just do this every day?

I just recently got a Dance mat as a form of fun and exercise, does anyone know of how good Cardio it is anything?
Google just came up with a ridiculous story about a bloke who was a couple hundred kgs or something and lost it all in a week through using a dance mat
But I'm always coming across these kinds of stories where they say about a miracle product which is just amazing but I suppose they are just combinations of diets and exercise rather than it being one thing like it suggests?

Many Thanks Again PPL!
Rob.
