I am stuck once again

I am 21 years old male and over the past one year I have lost 38 pounds. Now I still need to loose, 20 pounds of my belly fat mostly. I don't have that much fat over my body, just got a big belly. I don't drink beer. Only problem is I tend to get hungry at night, and do drink alot of diet coke (I tried quitting, seems addicted). I used to run on the treadmill. Now I realize I was loosing muscle. Whats the fastest, and best way to get into weight lose, and also see some results. I tried doing on the bow flex, but I cant get into it. I am sick of running on the treadmill for one hour. Is there any other solution.
Thank You

well to keep muscle you need protien and do some kind of weight training. for doing the tredmill for an hour why not go outside and run or something fun

Someone recomend I take multivitanims with diet properties. Will these help me loose weight or make me gain more weight.

Thanks

I would recommend more weightlifting, less treadmill running.

I was/am in a similar situtation as you

My "weight loss" and "make my heart stronger" routine was like this:
Monday
45 minutes Treadmill
Tuesday
30 minutes weight lifting
Wednesday
45 minutes Treadmill
Thursday
30 minutes weight lifting
Friday/Saturday (whichever day is open)
1 hour Track running/walking

As you can see, very concentrated on cardio. I lost around 25 pounds. I wanted to focus more on weight lifting and less on cardio since I feel I've established an ok cardio base and frankly, I feel better because of it.

Now I do:
Monday
Weightlifting for 30 minutes, 15 minutes Treadmill
Tuesday
Weightlifting for 30 minutes, 15 minutes Treadmill
Wednesday
45 minutes Treadmill (cardio day)
Thursday
All weightlifting (weight day)
Friday/Saturday (whichever day is open)
Sprinting/HIT/Running Track

The good thing is, the weight is still coming down. I've weighed in daily for 5 months or so and monitor. Even with my 2nd routine, I'm loosing weight, however doing it mainly by some good, old fashioned intense weight training.

No, the pill won't help you loose weight. First off, I would be curious to know your calorie intake range and your macro breakdown. If you do not have these. Then I suggest you input them into - Fitday.com -.

I would next be curious of your routine and also your average sleep times.
Other noteworthy questions would be your weight, height, and general activity level.

The bow flex is an overcomplicated hassle for most people. Its expensive and is completely replaced by free weights. There simply is no comparison between the two.

best way is to lose the weight first. Use lean cuisine, weight watchers etc. and go to 1000 calories a day or so. You'll lose weight and then you can start to build up your muscles. building muscle under fat just make you look fatter. better to do it after you've lost the fat.

I highly, highly recommend reading the stickies on this forum. It's a lot of reading but it will get you the info you need to get you where you want to be.

Also, there are a few people here who really know their stuff and will help you if you just ask. :)

Much Luck! :beerchug:

I wouldN'T advise you follow the above advise.^

You shouldn't lose more than 1-2 pounds per week if you want to lose fat; maybe 3 if you're obese. You have to be patient and lose slowly. Loosing more in the first week is okay, usually because you lose a little water weight. Do NOT think of weight loss in terms of speed.

Oh damn, totall MISSPELL, did NOT mean to imply you follow that advise. I meant "I WOULDN"T advise you follow that advise"!

Will edit/correct it now...

Its time I get serious now. I need to get nice and fit in 6 months. Want to get serious about this. I need to loose about 20 pounds and gain muscle. I run for 1 hour each day on the cardio machine, but getting sick of it. and it seems im gaining more weight instead of loosing it.
Thanks
