I am starving

Hello Diet Buddies,
I need some sound advice from some one who as passed the 6Ib mark, I have been on my diet for 2 weeks now and have lost 6Ib although I have found it to be a walk in the park, I now feel bored and although I felt great for a while after my first weigh in today, I now feel like I want to feel what I have lost, its like I am missing a good meal, maybe some chips or bacon and egg, in other words I want to fill my face and feel that comfort zone again. Realistically I dont think I can hack the feeling of weight lost, it feels strange not having food as your rock. Can anyone relate to what I am saying? Also I have noticed that I cant keep still and dont know how to relax like I use to, and when I have to eat I am disappointed because I liked the feeling of a settled stomach, like I dont want to disturb it. When I had my tea tonight I went and sat down and waited for my stomach to rest and say it was full, I have also found that I am thirsty sometimes and not hunger pangs, its strange really knowing that I have a stomach that speaks with me. Any tips?

well, it's trouble of everyone, try and try, just think you can and you can, i made mistakes yesterday, tortured my stomach and i felt sick too but it can't be happened today,:ack2:
don't be disappointed, remember that: "easy comes easy goes" it'd be better if you keep your mind freely
have a nice day
Today is tomorrow

I made it through, by the skin of my teeth.

Thanks Kate,
I felt really bad last night, it was awful. I suppose after losing 6 Ibs I will feel different but getting use to that horrible feeling that you are at the top of a roller coaster ride will need some beating down, I thought I had failed because of my thought pattern but maybe the secret is to have food in all the time and not to have that gap where your mind wonders. Anyway I work up this morning feeling physcially hungry, I had a poached egg on one slice of weight watchers bread and feel full again, I wish I could just eat eggs all day they are so filling. Any ideas diet buddies on the most low calorie foods that fill you up apart from bananna and eggs, also can you eat bannana late at night? speak later off to the wimming baths. x

Does it get easier?

Hi Steve,
I am eating heathy, having breakfast 1 slice of weight watchers, 1 slice of ham all week, plenty of fruit to start with over the 2 weeks, started drinking more milk, having water and generally eating b/fast, late lunch, tea about 5.30pm and then surviving the next phrase without having a binge. My question was what foods fill you up? any ideas Steve?

No no.

I mean how much food are you eating in a single day.

Not in a week.

I don't really care about the healthfulness of the food either.

How much are you eating in a single day?

If you're not eating enough, which is very possible, you're going to experience the problems you're mentioning here.

Lets not give up the good fight

Hiya Steve,
I am ok now bearing in mind its my first ever diet, so if you can imagine I am learning all about my first binge attack [scary] its probably my stomach [body] craving for the things I have given up, I just need to work on my sub conscious level of my mind and my consious level and bring new light into all my old thoughts and bad habits. I am not really bothered about counting calories just yet as I have a date with a enemy right now. Thanks for listening.

Well if cravings are to that extent, my thinking is you're not eating enough. That doesn't mean you have to start counting calories though. But it's just a guess.

Hunger pangs

Hiya Steve,
I feel like I am ok again and back on track, I have come to the conclusion that I will have bad days and that I can always start again the next day. I suppose you could say I forgot what it was like to feel hungry, I dont want to start counting calories just yet as I want to concentrate on the psychology side of overeating, differentiating between physical hunger and emotional hungry, sometimes when I really think about my overeating I can get sad because I never knew what I was doing until now, I am happy to let out those feelings because as I do I become better at my dieting, thanks ever so much for your observation, I love your super duper pictures of your body WOW! you must sleep eat and breathe health. speak soon off to get a crispbread with cucumber on, I am addicted to them at the moment. [yummy]

Well like I said, you don't have to count calories to figure out if you're eating too little.

You can base it off your rate of weight loss. If you're losing too quickly, there's a good chance you're under eating.

Or if you find that you're able to stick to it a few days then the cravings overwhelm you, then you're probably under eating. (note: if this is the case, the scale won't move much net).

Thanks for the compliment. No, I workout less than what most people on here do, to be honest.

Hi Caroline,

Here are some food I eat... Some aren't that low carbs/calorie...
But anything better than unhealthy snacks or something...

-eats lots of fruits.... when you feel hungry....... eat fruit.. You know.. there are so many fruits in the world.. you will never get bored of fruit... Apple, banana, pineapple, orange, kiwi, melon, duran, ananas, mango, red grapes, white grape, blue grape, peach, lemon, etc.. etc...
-if you like sushi...... you can combine the seaweed with any sort of fish... seaweed is vegetable doesnt make any fat.... and fish has low calories... but don't eat too much fish..... you can have like 2 roll seaweed for one meal
-salad... you can make fruit salad, pasta salad... i love pasta...!!!! add lots of vegetable and some wholegrain salad and some chicken (steamed) you have one meal!! if you like some sauce... add a bit of olive oil or a bit yoghurt sauce.. honey mustard..... A BIT... you can also put some fish in it too!!! and mais!!! IT REALLY taste good and healthy! you can eat vegetable as many as you want!!
-if you want to drink something sweet.. make juices with fruit... serve it (ice) cold.. It tastes good and healthy!
-potatoes fills up too...
-soup...

just a few tips.... you just have to like those food.....
maybe you have some other prefering...

There are so many food... you can combine... Good luck..

Don't starve yourself.. I know I am not (always) the right example...
If you are really getting hungry..... take fruit or something light to fill up your stomache a bit..
It's better too eat a bit more than you end up eating a whole big meal....

Hi Esther,
Thanks for the great tips, I cant believe you can eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want, I am eating often but little, always having my b/fast and tea [5 ish]. I am sort of getting into a routine now, I definately enjoy my tuna fish twice a week. Heres a question for you, is it best to change your food? the reason I am asking is I could eat tuna all week for my dinner, not sure if it effects your weight loss eating the same stuff. I am eating alsorts at the moment afraid to get into a bad habit of eating the same, its keeping my mind ticking over thats for sure.

Hiya Steve,
Thanks for the advice, I will keep a check on what you are saying mabe that was the answer and I may need to count calories. I have put it in my journal with a "BIG" warning on, keep checking up on me I need it. Thanks for your help.

I think it doesn't really matter that you eat the same food everyday.
But be sure you eat all kind of vitamins, magnesium, protein and stuff (I don't know everything exactly).

I think you can eat tuna everyday.. But like eggs.. you can not eat it a lot.
Some food can't because of the things in it...

But like tuna... For example You can have tuna salad for a dinner a day.. (tuna plus vegetable you like plus a bit pasta)
Then you can have a tuna seaweed roll for dinner the other day.. All you like..
Or making pasta/potatoes you can add a bit of tuna, so you would eat some tuna.. but not too much of it....

And about fruit... I would have max 1 banana each day.. Cause they have a lot of calories.... And there are some really sweet food.. with lots of glucose.. you eat like 2 a day...

Fruit that has many water in it..... wet... Like orange... apple... grapefruit..
You can eat a lot...

Ow, and if you feel like you have eaten a bit too much a day... Lemon with hot water helps you to clean a bit of your tummy/stomache too.. But don't drink it when you have a little... Your stomache would hurts! (i tried before.. *ouch*)

You can put all the menu you found out in a diary cooking map..
It help you keep away from eating it... Because instead you are writing it...
Better to spend time on writing about food, then eating it...... right?

Good luck with your food experience.. !

Doing ok

The hardest part is committing to something in the beginning. After that, I become much more focused and motivated.
