i am so depressed and stressed about my weight

I'm tired of carrying the weight around. I turned 50 in june and I want to get healthy and feel better about myself. but I just have not been able to get a grip. I'm feeling desperate and I'm wanting to do the b-12 shots and diet pills just to get a jump start. It motivates me to watch thintervention and the biggest loser but it only lasts until the show goes off. i can't do it alone. i just can't. i feel so defeated.
 
Well hey man, you came to the right place!! This forum is all about support and education!! That being said, let me warn you against taking these shots and pills...they don't work for long term loss and they can be very dangerous.

Although its not as exciting as other diet plans (or pills) good old fashioned "eat less move more" works every time! Its just a matter of making up your mind to do it and replacing those bad habits with healthy ones.

Why don't you take some time to read the "stickies" we have posted. There are a few of them in the "on topic" section.

You're in the right place! I've come to this website to read a lot lately to motivate myself.

I've ALWAYS been overweight (the only one in my family). I was 235 at my heaviest and it really just takes one day to make a change.
Make it a point just to go for a walk today or a jog or whatever you find fun to do. That one time will get you feeling so good about yourself and that in turn will lead to healthier eating because you're feeling so good!

Just take it one day at a time and when you need help come on here like I do and read everyone's stories :)

By the way, the Biggest Loser show does the same for me...I get so inspired while watching it.... I don't eat dessert on those nights ha ha

I would be very careful about diet pills. As for the B-12 shots. Thats just a waste of your money. You can buy B-12 sublingual tablets that will work just as well at most any store. Like most supplements you have to be careful how much you take. Good nutrition is the only way to go.
I watched Biggest loser tonight. It helps keep me motivated also.
 
Dear, you are not alone, we are here. In fact, I'm desperate to lose weight also, but it's not the main aim, we could do it slowly but steadily lose more weights. Be strong, I mean make your mind stronger, motivate yourself, find out the purpose you take this weight loss journey.
