Hey Everyone,

I am here for help...and I hope someone out there can either relate, motivate, or at least talk to me. Many of you may not like me or see my wieght issues as valid but they are. I am the biggest I have ever been in my life. Most of it has been attributed to late night eating (who doesn't love cereal right before bed), not excersizing, and that stupid, no good birth control - seasonal. (DON"T EVER TAKE IT GIRLS!! If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact me). Really though the blame lies with me. I honestly feel like I woke up one day and realized I was 30 pounds heavier. Has any one else ever experienced this? Also, I find myself constantly thinking about food ever since I realized how much I gained and how hard it is to loose now that I am older. Really, I just want to talk to someone who can say...Hey I am here too, and I know how it feels, and here is what you can do.

Lookin' Foward to it!!!

Hi there

I'm new to this forum too and have 30 pounds to lose as well. I lost 10 though, so I'm very pleased about that. I used to be 190 pounds and now I'm 180 (well, 181..I had sort of a break on the weekend lol) Maybe I could give you some tips I'm using to help me lose weight.

I like to eat cereal sometimes at night too. It's a great snack. I tend to stick to the high fibre cereals though, like Shredded Wheat. Sometimes I'll have plain whole wheat Cheerios or Corn Flakes, but I don't find them as filling. Shreddies is a good high fiber cereal too. So is frosted mini wheats, if you do want something a little sweeter.

Some days I've tried not eating a few hours before bed, as that has been suggested by fitness experts on Oprah and what not. It can be hard to do, and often I'll end up eating just 2 hours before bed. But the days I haven't eaten 3 or 4 hours before bed, I've found I tend to weigh less in the morning.

But basically, I try to stay away from junk food like chocolate or chips, and try eating fruits and vegetables as snacks instead. I've found some very interesting fruit juices, like guava and pomegranate, that have a sweeter taste and aren't as boring as having the same old apples and oranges. The better juices are 100% fruit juice, instead of 50/50. I find the 100% ones have more taste and are a lot better for you.

I also try to walk a lot. I have a treadmill, but mostly I'll try walking outdoors as I can get some fresh air. It really does help to get the blood flowing.

Well hope that helps you out a bit

Thank YOU!!!

Thank You PJ!!

I thought my loss wasn't signifigant enough, and that I wouldn't find a place to fit here. I appreciate someone understanding. DOn't you hate the weekends?!?! It is cheat central!! Congrats on your 10lbs!! I'll be excited for 5...and not jsut 5 lbs..but 5 - never going to come back again lbs! Really thank you!
