Hello All,

I am back and I need some help. I am currently on the Slimfast diet plan (which I know is not a good thing) but I need some advice on how to eat and I got the exercise part down pact. Any suggestions from anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! :)

I could never stick to the slimfast. How are you doing with it? I'd drink those shakes and it wouldn't even phase me.

I don't have advice on the best way to eat, but when I just watch my calories, I can lose weight, no matter what I'm eating.

I dumped the shakes and I am now eating cereal instead, I eat a bowel of Total in the Morning, Another Bowl for Lunch, then a sensible dinner! The shakes were bogus, I always felt starving on them. I am glad that I am off of them. :)

The simplicity is brilliant, isn't it. :)

Listen to the woman!!

Macronutrient breakdown is important too, but they definitely sit in the back seat when compared to cals.

2 bowls of total is still extremely low on te calorie range for you.

Based on your health history, you really want to be careful... Please make sure you are eating...

Hey There,

Thasnks guys for posting and do not worry Meleficient I am eating and I am not hungry like I was on the Slimfast. I make sure I am getting my veggies and meat in my diet along with my fruit. I do realize that my caloric content is kinda low but I have not been starving so that is the good thing. Thanks for being concerned! Hugs If I do get really hungry I now grab a piece of fruit or a yogurt during the day, the two bowels of cereal are not all that I eat. Hugs :jump:

Just b/c you aren't hungry doesn't mean you aren't starving.

Really? I was always told if your not hungry, don't force yourself to eat. Maybe they where wrong.. shrugs...

When I'm not hungry, I consider it a blessing and don't eat!!

But that is a rare thing. Glad to hear you dumped the shakes. I could never feel satisfied on them, but they were tastey!!. How's the cereal going?

Is it possible to starve if you have 40lbs of fat stored up? I've always wondered that. I know there are vital nutrients we need, but sheesh, our bodies were designed to survive in times of famine, right? Oh, that was so controversial. lol Don't bash me people!!

Honest - it is possible to starve yourself. I'm proof! Working out at least 5 days of 7 for 35mins of weights combined with 35 mins of aerobics and only popping in 1200-1400cals per day, I managed to gain weight!

Listen to Steve - I've added somewhere between 150-200 cals on my diet the past 2 weeks - things are starting to get loose on me now and I'm feeling sooo much better. My body's not storing fat because it's starving anymore. It's free. Free, I tells ya! *skips around the room doing happy dance*

Obviously if you're not hungry, it'll be hard to think about putting something in your mouth (what's that feel like, anyway - not hungry? ) but I've always been told to eat less, more times. Maybe this will work for you?

Good luck

Well I went and saw a nutrionalist today and she told me what to do to lose the weight and she said that my carb intake was too high with the cereals and to get more protein in my diet along with more veggies. So I think I found the answer, thanks guys for your imput, it was well appreciated. :)

I have said it 100 times on this board.

Set your caloric goal, then work on filling the calories with what you need.

First set the protein, where each gram has 4 cals. I recommend around a 1 gram per pound of LBM intake.

Then set the fat intake, which varies. Something like .25-5 grams per pound is usually a good starting point. Obviously this intake should consist of mainly the good fats. Nuts, olive oil, udos oil, flax, fish oil, peanut butter, etc.

Then, you still need to add more food to meet your original caloric goal. This can consist of carbs and/or more fat.

Steve really knows what he is talking about, so I suggest you take his advice.
Low cal intake sounds good, but will lead to problems later.
Check out some of the sticky threads at the top of some of the topics and you will learn loads. I did and I have made changes to my diet and exercise and having been stuck for a couple of weeks, I have kicked on again now.
Learn what you can and I know you will reach your goals.
You have started well so keep it up.
Cheers.

Steve has some wonderful advice and I do appreciate his input. :) Like I appreciate everyones as well. I know I am on the right path this time to losing the weight properly. Hugs :) I know that low cal intake can be dangerous just as low fat and low carb can be dangerous to a body as well. I just gotta eat right, avoid the junkfood and the pop, that's a real killer which I am glad I gave up and keep up the 45 minutes a day on the treadmill. Thanks guys for being so supportive. Good luck to you all on your weight loss goals.
