Hi everyone :seeya: ,
My name is John (or Johnny) I have been overweight pretty much all my life, and yesterday tipped the scales at 366 lbs (yes, 366 it's not a typo).
I went to the doctor and he put me on Fastin (phentermine) I was told to limit myself to 1,200 calories a day, and excercise 4 times a week.
I'm fairly young (25 in June) I married my high school sweet heart (who remembers when I was a respectable 250 lbs. lol) no kids, except for my wifes puppy (shih-tzu/schnauser mix).
I had a gym membership but we never used it so I actually cancelled it in January, I think for now I'm going to stick with walking a couple times a week, and maybe some in home excercises.
I have a twin sister (obviously not identical) she at one time weighed 300 lbs, she now currently weighs in about 170 lbs (she went into the military weighing 135 lbs). Her husband was originally 435 lbs, and went into the military at a hair over 200. Both of them are my influence for losing the weight, and I need it off for general health purposes, not to mention just to feel better about myself.
I'll glady accept any and all tips for weight loss.

Thanks and God bless,

Johnny

Hey John. Good luck with your goals! Isnt 1200 calories a little low for a man of 366 lbs? It's great you've got people in your life to look to for inspiration :)

Hi Johnny
Welcome to the forum. I find that walking is a great way to reduce my stress and my pant size. I walk almost everyday and I try to either increase the distance or try to do my miles faster. I found that after walking for a couple of weeks I wanted to bump it up. So I now use ankle weights. They really seem to help make me work harder. It might be something to think about for your walks.

And I also have a sister that I look up to. She is into any sport going and does them all well. She runs and has a very healthy lifestyle. I try everyday to be a little bit more like her.

So again welcome and enjoy!

lost_wings, I'm really not sure if it's to low or not, I know it's hard to get all the food I need, including protein while still trying to stay at 1,200 calories.
I wasn't very good over the weekend so now I have to drop off 2 lbs that I lost, but it seems to come off pretty easily.

TTnichols-
Thank you so much for the kind words, I appreciate it.

Johnny

Welcome Johnny!!! you've took a step in the right direction when it comes to your goal.. doctor yes, family and friends support yes...

i think the calorie intake my be very low. i myself am 242 and i have to eat 1,700 a day. I see a doctor once a month for the outside support, and he weighs and takes my measurements. He did mention the weighloss pill Adipex or something but i decided not to go with it. I can't drink any sodas, and eat healthy as the plan instructs me. But if i do slip up and have something i'm carving i just cut it in half and this way it may not be the best thing but i'm not overly stuffing myself.

Good luck i hope to see you around and see the changes in your lifestyle!!
