Hello Everyone,
Let my take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Tim. Ok there is the name. At least I have that out of the way. I am a born and raised Texan from the Waco area. No I am not a Branch Davidian. How many remember them and the Waco standoff? My home is located moments away from the Airport that is used by Air Force One and the President as he makes his way to his Crawford ranch. I may or may not wave at the plane and helicopters as they fly over. That really depends on the day.
As for a profession, I am an Electrical Engineering Assistant for a power transmission and distribution coop. What does that mean? Well if the power in on, then it’s a good bet that I did my job right. I am involved in the process of designing protection equipment for electrical substations. Besides this fun and exciting job, I am also a college student. At the moment I am working on a double major of Business and Engineering. Degrees mean everything.
That is enough avoiding the main topic. Why am I here? I have been overweight my entire life. As a kid I was picked on for my weight. As a teen I was denied the things that most teens want because of it (friends, dates, cool clothes) This should have been motivation to loose the weight right? No, the opposite happened. I let this be a reason to gain more weight. Food became my friend. Sweets became my escape. This past June I turned 31 years old. This is important because upon this day I reflected on the life I have lived. It was on this day that I finally woke up and realized that I did not like the person that looked back at me in the mirror. At 6’ 360lbs, I hated what I saw. At that moment I decided it was time to do something. I will admit to the fact that this is not my first attempt to start a healthy lifestyle, but for some reason this is the first time I feel ready. There is a long road ahead of me. Many obstacles to overcome, but I want to do it. My goal is under 200. Because of my height and body build, I believe that medically I should be at around 190, but I will settle for under 200 lol.
This is a little about me. Hopefully, I can find some friends out there to help me on the way.
Thanks for reading.
