How to lose weight in order to achieve this kind of legs?

Hello! I'm currently dieting and almost at my goal weight. However, since I tend to lose weight overall, it's still hard to be satisfied with any part of my body specifically. I would like to seek some advice to make sure I have the best chance at achieving the kinds of legs I've always wanted, because if anything I want to be able to achieve my dream legs over any other body part :)

In words the legs I've always wanted are slim but soft looking, with little to no muscle tone. (personally I dislike muscle tone) What really is difficult for me is achieving slim calves. The inner sides of my calves touch, and I really hate it. Here is an image of the dream legs I have always wanted:

I am Asian and I have a fairly small frame so it is not unhealthy for me to have legs like those.
I'd really like both diet and exercise advice that would help be achieve those legs. I've tried running (1 hour every day), but it made my calves only harder and muscular, which is exact opposite of what I want. Also it gave me muscle tone on my thighs, which I dislike greatly also. The only thing that seems to work is walking for 3+ hours a day everyday, but that only happened when I went to China for vacation one summer, where I ate so much but lost 10 lbs in 2 month. I do not have time for such walking exercise now I am back in America, so I was wondering what else I can do, preferably in my home, that can help me achieve those legs.

Thank you all very much in advance!!

I can't view the picture for some reason.

Don't fear muscle tone. Muscle tone is sexy.

That's strange... It shows up for me

I understand some people like muscle tone but personally I do not find it sexy on a girl at all and would rather be my current pudgey self than have muscle tone. It's just my personal opinion.

Unfortunately, body make-up is entirely genetic. Some people have incredibly high metabolism that allows them to be skinny without having to control their eating or do intensive exercises. Many others are not like this.

Likewise, some people can exercise a ****-ton and gain little muscle growth, while others can do some and gain muscle that they're genetically meant to have but never got cause they never bothered to promote muscle growth.

The easiest way to achieve something like that is to go on a 500 or so calorie deficit diet for a prolonged period of time while doing light exercises.

The most important part of any diet is CONSISTENCY. Diets are a life-change. They're not meant to make you lose 5-10 lbs now and then you can just drop the diet. That'll just result in you gaining all of the weight back and about 20 lbs more in a heart-beat.

This is why I typically advocate a smaller deficit diet than some people do, cause it's unfeasible to expect people to suddenly cut 500 calories from their diet and stick with it for their life. I personally think it's most feasible to stick to a 200-300 one, but that's really up to your will-power.

Anyways, since you don't want any muscle growth at all but want to lose excess body-fat, your best bet is to just go on a -500 calorie deficit.

Go get a BMR reading (very simple to find a calc online), and use it as a general guide-line. Those things can never be perfect. Now just minus 500 calories from that and find a way to eat healthy while sticking to that calorie ceiling.

Honestly I don't see the point of having no muscle at all. Don't think of it as a muscle tone issue but rather a fitness and endurance issue. Having your mentally perfect body is meaningless if it fails you whenever you need it to actually do what it's meant to do.

I am not talking about huge muscles, just 'tone'. In other words, nicely shaped firm muscles. You knw what is under nicely shaped legs??? Muscles. The legs in the picture you show are not attractive, really. They look like the legs of a 12 year old school girl.

Look at Jennifer Anniston. Great legs, because she has wonderful muscle tone and definition.

Unfortunately, for the most part, the shape of your legs is determined by genetics. We don't really get to choose what they look like. I would stick with walking and light resistance exercises as much as possible and keep your diet clean for the most part. If you can reduce the body fat %, you may be able to get to a size that you are happy with. Maybe try something like swimming or biking (low-moderate intensity) which takes some of the workload off of your calves (biking not so much). This way, you can get a healthy amount of exercise in, but make other body parts do more of the work.

Not sure, just a suggestion!

Thank you for the HELPFUL advice. I will keep them in mind!

As for the other reply, no thank you. You have your opinions and I have mine. I prefer slim skinny legs, and I am an Asian female. I do not find muscle tone attractive, cause I personally consider it unfeminine. In our culture we prefer "cute" and "demure" over "sexy" or "powerful". So I'd be happy if you didn't insult my personal preferences. If they are not attractive, why do a ton of the female population, more than those in the western cultures for sure, find them attractive and want to achieve those legs? Please learn respect for other people's cultures and preferences. I rather have smooth, slim, demure legs than to have legs with weird muscle parts and shadows, and look like it's ready to smack me in the face.

Erm.

You completely misunderstand. Hormones and the weight you use greatly dictate the shape of the muscles in your leg. Women can work-out without weights all they want and they'll generally not get anywhere near as much muscle as men do in any part of their body. You need a good deal of testosterone and not a lot of estrogen to promote muscle growth in the manner that most men expect to be "buff".

In addition, you must use very heavy weights to create the legs that you're imagining. Simply boding body-weight squats will generate enough muscle growth to allow your legs to actually be strong and capable.

Also, legs with no muscle definition at all must be either flabby or incredibly skinny, depending on the fat % of your total body. This isn't so much a determination of muscle tone as it simply is what goes into the leg. If you have no fat in your legs then your legs will literally be just bones and a bit of sinew and muscles. They will not be "cute" and "demure". Look at very skinny models to see what I mean. You need a bit of muscle and also a bit of fat in order to maintain what you consider your epitome.

Lastly, don't generalize please. I'm Korean and I really do not think the Korean epitome of beautiful legs are anything like that. Rather, the Korean epitome of beauty is this

and this

Essentially, firm legs that have muscle definition and very little fat. Nor are they "grotesquely" big legs.

Thank you. Nicely shaped legs because there are toned muscles under the skin.

By weight loss exercise we can survive with less tensions because such exercises are also tension reducers because of less chances to become sick.Running is best exercise for weight loss.
