How Much Should A Person Exercise?

My general answer for this is a silly but simple question in return.. how much can you exercise?if you can for an hour, great, do it, if you can only do 15 minutes.. ok fine, do it. if you're burning more calories than you're eating, you're doing to drop weight. the amount you drop will depend on the difference between the calories in vs out up to various biological limits per week

My question in response is ... for what?

What's your goal? Are you exercising to lose weight? Are you exercising to get in shape? Are you exercising to become stronger? Are you exercising with some particular achievement in mind (running a 5k or something)?

There is no fixed number just in general. How much you exercise and WHAT KIND of exercise you do depends on what kind of results you want and what you want to achieve.

I agree with Kara. It all depends on your goals, weather to lose weight or build muscle you can set a time frame accordingly.

Also you should know your body has hit it's max point during your work out. You may want to push yourself beyond that but don't over do it or you'll come crashing down faster than an asteroid from space.

Do what you can

Shoot for 3 hours a week. More is better but something is better than nothing. I work out for about an hour 5-6 days a week. Work, family and injuries and sickness all cut that down but I try to do weights Mon,Wed,Fri and run Tues,Thurs and Sat. I never miss my Tues/Thurs runs and make most weight workouts. The Saturday run is hard with a family.
