how much is too much?

I am a 35 yo gal, 5'7" 147 lbs. and in pretty good shape

I get all cranky when I miss my work-out and got mad at my husband this morning for wanting me to hit snooze and stay in bed another five minutes, when I HAD to get to the gym. :( I'm much more p!ssed if I wake late because I will miss my work-out than that I will be late for work.

I work-out for 1 hr 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hr each morning before work, then on the weekends. I used to get up at 4:45am, now I get up at 4:15 so I have more time. (I get to the gym at 5:20am and work out until about 6:45, so I can get to work by 7:30). I do 45 very hard minutes on the elliptical (that I have had people comment on how hard I run) 2x30 push-ups, 100 cruches, 40 reverse sit-ups (when you raise both legs off the floor and lift them to about 45 degrees), 30 of those things where you hold a 10 lb weight and lift you torso back (for booty and low back muscles).

Am I going crazy? I'm not one who goes for the psychological addiction mumbo jumbo and they say you are not crazy if you think you may be crazy

Wait, you're saying that you do 100 crunches, 50 push ups, and etc every day of the week???

First, I hope you have excellent post workout nutrition
Second, you are way over doing it
Third, it's time to add more resistance (read: free weights)
Fourth, there's no reason in the world to do that much ab work

if you truely want gains in muscle and muscle is what burns calories 24/7/365.25 take a break... your muscles need 24 to 48 hours of rest between work outs to "repair" them selves.. if your constantly working them out like that there not going to grow.

the cardio you can afford to do almost every day but take a few breaks...

Gram is right! and even sometimes up to 4 days to come back 100% from an intense work out! so everyday seems a little much, try dividing up body parts into seperate days ;) good luck

Ok, so how about I do my 45 minutes of cardio every day,

then alternate between upper body/legs and booty/ abs?

(and I'll be able to get another 15-20 minutes sleep  in the morning)

try to do your cardio 5 to 6 times a week, like take sunday off, cause your body truely needs rest, to get any gains.
