How much is too much?

Right now im taking 3-4 30g protein shakes a day, is there a point where i would be consuming too much? Over a long period of time with all these chemicals pumped into our bodies can stuff like this lead to cancer? I also heard that supplements and shakes like these were not FDA approved.
 
that's overkill w/ the protein shakes. You should get the majority of your daily protein from whole foods, not protein powder. Instead of 3-4 protein shakes a day, eat protein-rich foods like tuna and chicken instead of chugging all that whey. You should really save your whey for pre- and post-workout (preferably just post-workout if you can help it) because 1) it's expensive and 2) your body was designed to digest FOOD, not processed protein power.

The whey is only to supplement your daily protein intake when you're in a pinch or post-workout.
 
I say 2 protein shakes a day is the limit...mostly because any more than that will leave you starving due to a lack of whole food in your gut.

good protein powders are actually very easy to digest, and I don't feel they're any problem with them. plus, they are usually cheaper than an equivalent serving size of chicken or lean steak.
