I had to start taking medication today, and one effect is that I have no appetite. Even when I am hungry, eating tends to slip my mind. Sometimes in the middle of a meal. I'm sitting here now with a sliced apple and some peanut butter, and a mug of tea. I've been "eating" it for more than an hour now and it's about 3/4 gone. Earlier it took me 40 minutes to eat a half of a chocolate. I feel like all I've done today is try to convince myself to eat, and the net result is: 2 oz of grapefruit juice, half a cup of pirate booty, half of a chocolate, and 3/4 of an apple with a little peanut butter.
Normally, I figure that I have some low days when I'm not hungry, and then I have some high days when my hunger catches up to me. Eating when I'm hungry and stopping when I'm full has been working for me. This isn't a natural "not hungry", though, and I'm not sure how to deal with it.
This is a short-term thing, and might only be a couple of days, but we're heading into the time of year that I need them more often, so it's going to come up again.
Enjoy the decreased appetite and just let eating take care of itself?
Declare some minimum amount of food to be considered "acceptable" and just make myself consume it?
How do you handle it?
