How much damage does all-U-can eat do?

Hi,

I've never been overweight, but started to get in shape in January as a new year's resolution (and somehow, I've stuck to it!)

Anyway, after 4 months of cardio to try and get to single-digit BF%, I've switched nearly exclusively to weight training.
[ As a side question, I'm wondering why I still have my bulky playstation ass & thighs (it seems to be above the waist that has been sculpted down, not below) ]

Anyway, I have quite a competitive attitude towards Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets, and my friends and I find ourselves going with the "I'm going to eat these guys out of business attitude"! [not for any discriminative reason] 6 plates of gorgeous food later, you waddle out feeling like your stomach's about to explode and wish it hadn't appened (although it DID only cost you a fiver!)

This basically results in eating only one (huge) meal in 36 hours, while I have been trying to eat 5-6 small ones to up my RMR.
So my question is:
Firstly, what does this do to your metabolism - how many days of healthy eating does it undo and how long to get it back on track?
Secondly, how much fat can I expect to gain (I appreciate you can't give me it in grams, so a bit; a little; or a lot?)
And lastly, what can you do reduce the above drawbacks of such opulent indulgence? Should I workout before? After? Drink lots of coffee to up the metabolism (if that even works)?

Thanks :)

If you follow the "stomach should be the size of your closed fist"/eat 5 to 7 meals a day rule than I can see doing something like that as counterproductive. If your used to eating small meals, your stomach has shrunk, and by doing something like that, you'll severly strech it. I don't like the sound of that - do you?

i can't resist, myself... when i am taking my week off inbetween my 8 week cycles, i eat @ an all you can eat buffet at least 3 times in that week. It's great, isn't it?? Me and the friends go in there with the same goal, eating more platefulls than the rest of us.. I say go @ it for a few weeks, and see what it does.. If it really makes a bad difference, then you've got to weigh your options. But life is worth living :)
