I have lost 23.5 in 6 weeks. I am not sturving myself and feel great. I have protein shake in the morning, fish/ white meat of chicken with veggies at lunch and fruit salad before 7 p.m. I drink 120 oz. of water and do 1 hour cardio every day.:)

You must have been really overweight. When you are only a stone or 2 over weight its a lot harder to lose.

Yep, you are right:) . My starting weight was 213.5.I just think that the first 10 lb. are not that hard to loose no matter if you are 140lb. or 213lb. simply because body will react to a change in eating and axercise + keep in mind that first 5-8 lb usually nothing but water weight.

How come if you were like 30 stone you can lose 4 stone or so in about a month?

What does it mean "stone" ? Everybody uses this turm but I do not really understand how many lbs. are in 1 stone? Sorry for the silly question.:)

14 pounds in one stone.
Thank you! Well, now that I know how many lbs. are in 1 stone I can tell you that I have never seen a person who lost 4 stones in one month without any medical condition. If nything it is very unhealthy. I know that the heavier the person - the more lbs. he/she will loose with in the first few weeks. Why? I think water is to blame. Big people retain more water. 1 gallon of water = 8 lbs.!!! Just think about it.

How quickly you lose weight depends a lot on your starting body weight and fat percentage - If you are really overweight and have a high body fat percentage (over 20%) then you will lose a lot of weight very quickly. The leaner you get the less weight you will lose.

A general indicator is 2 pounds a week after the initial first few weeks of dieting has passed during which you can safely lose up to 12 pounds.

Assuming that you are just starting your program and assuming that your diet and exercise program is up to scrath - you could lose the 1 stone as quick as 2-3 weeks.

As you can see, the ticker in my signature gives away my weight. I'm 5'10. So it would be possible to lose a stone in 2-3 weeks?

A safe and sensible way to lose weight is through proper nutrition and exercise. Every doctor in the world will tell you that the average person can lose between one and two pounds a week. Of course everyone's body is different but the safest way to lose a stone and keep it off forever is diet and exercise. That said, that math is easy-- 2 pounds a week = 7 weeks--getting our bodies to obey the math is hard.

But would it kill ya to lose 3 pounds a week?

Kill you...no. But if you want to lose weight permanently you have to go about it the right way. Like you said, the skinnier you are the harder it is to lose the weight...if she's only 14 pounds over what she wants--its not going to come off in chunks of 3.

Im 14 pounds above my recommended weight.
I know its a very difficult question to answer, but in your opinion, how long do you think it would take me to lose those 14 pounds?? Also, would it be possible for me to lose 2 pounds a week?
