Hi,
I have a problem. Few months ago i decided to stop dieting and change my lifestyle - eat healthy and not very much. It was hard at the first because i had to change myself but finally i thought i got it. I work out 4-6 times a week - dancing(one hour/hour and half). I can keep up the good eating for about a week and then i have a day or two when i eat what i want. And that's deffenetely not junk but just...like pasta and fishsticks and cereal. Then the one or two days are over and i continue eating healty(veggies, fruit, fish, chicken, light dairy).I let my self have something good every once in a while but that's just like an ice-cream or a few pieces of chocolate.Am i the only person who can't eat anything i want b/c i'm just gona gain right away??!!
So...yesterday..i felt my pants were small. How the hell is that possible???
I work out and I am active but no...I STILL weight more than i did 6 months ago. I have been putting so much time and energy in training and trying to watch what I eat but...seems like...I still gain and loose nothing. And how is that even real that a person who has been regularly exercisin since last august(2007) and still haven't lost ANY weight..just gained:banghead:.Can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong?:(

Thank you!

you actually think that going very low calories is a good idea? What kind of nutrition are you getting out of 2 bowls of cereal and one normal meal a day?

Maybe you should get your thyroid checked.

Another thing I'd do is get a notebook and write down every little morsel of food you eat, and all exercise you do as specifically as you can. Do it for a month and then see if the results match what you did during that time, if not you should probably go to a doctor.

To me it sounds like you are being way too lenient on the snacks and the cheat days.

You should have, IMO, a maximum of ONE cheat day per week. I try to limit it to one cheat meal instead of a whole day.

You should keep a record of EXACTLY what you're eating.. you may be sneaking in a lot more snacks then you think. Really that is the most plausible explanation.

If you're serious about losing weight then no, you absolutely can not "eat anything you want".

I'm just frustrated...there must be something that i'm doing wrong.
Ok, maybe those nights i go out to party:blush5: I mean the alcohol and eating at night certanly can't do you any good. But i mean i do it probably once in every two weeks...so all the training should help but it doesn't. If the weight wouldn't change..ok..But it goes up??
Total depression day..:(

I'm having problems losing too.

I started calorie counting about 4 weeks ago. Initially I started on this really silly one that went from 200-1000 calories per day in a zig zag effect as my friend had lost a stone on it and I was desperate. I soon realised it was stupid and because she has had eating problems for years then her losing weight is alot more easier than me (I'm about 42lbs heavier).

Sooooo I upped the calories and am now having between 1000-1400 per day and am trying the zig zag effect, as I have read that can help.

I never cheat and never have anything like crisps, chocolate or anything that is not calorie labelled. I write everything down.

I try to workout as much as possible and have been for a lot of walks recently when I've been unable to go to the gym.

HOWEVER, I do drink alcohol on the weekends and I think this may be my downfall. I wonder if anyone can clarify how much damage this can do? For the record, I drink either wine or vodka with lemonade (I hate any other mixer). I don't really count the calories of the drinks religiously but I tend to have less calories that day to account for them.

Alcohol has a lot of calories in it - as to do the mixers... so you probably want to keep track of what you're drinking to see how many calories you're takingin.

What are your current stats and how many days are you doing the 1000 calories a day.

I do try to keep track but once drunken-ness sets in then its all downhill from there :cheers2:. I have changed my double vodkas to singles and may try to switch the lemonade to soda.

For stats, I guess you mean my height and weight?

Height - 5ft 4in
Weight - 167 lbs

I have only done the 1000 calories about 5 days in the whole 3-4 weeks and have been doing more like 1380 calories for the past week

Damn that alcohol! I've been doing the 1000-1200 kcal per day also.
Morning:
Light yoghurt(0,1%fat) 150g
Snack: 100g of light cottage cheese with one teaspoon of jam
Lunch: vedgetable cutlet with lettuce, cucumber, tomato + one tablespoon of sourcream
Dinner: one chicken salad(chicken + chinese cabbage and feta)
Dessert: 75 g of light yoghurt
In between if i feel like having something i'll eat a carrot or an apple.

Sounds reasonable oooor not?:)

Sounds OK to me Fantastic but I'm still new to this myself

BUT my first official weigh in today and I've lost a few pounds - Yippee!!
