How does metabolism work?

How exactly does metabolism work? Does it let me burn more calories?

The study of human metabolism is a very debatable subject and is rather complicated. When one takes some time to really dig on finding some good source material, they find this out rather quickly.

However, yes, metabolism has alot to do with the amount of energy (calories) one burns.

I am not going to begin to tell you I have "metabolism" figured out nor should anyone else. The medical community, though having some general base consensus, hasn't fully figured it out yet.

However, it is my opinion, that a manipulation of one's calorie consumption (not frequency of meals) and exercise will increase one's natural occurring metabolism more than people generally realize.

And, unless you have a metabolic disorder or some other type of health complication, I would primarily be concerned with what I have underlined, and educating yourself all you possibly can on diet and fitness, that is applicable to your personal goal.

One can pull several pages of information from "persons" (some well-known and some not), that advocate frequency of meals as increasing metabolism. But, like I have stated many times before in previous posts on this subject, IMO, this ISNT TRUE, and PALES in comparison to the almighty calorie and exercise "manipulation".

How does it work? what do you mean by that. Metablism IS the process of burning calories

It's defintely complicated but what do you mean by debatable Chillen?

Metabolism refers to all the physical and chemical processes in the body that create and use energy, such as: Digesting food and nutrients, Eliminating waste through urine and feces ,Breathing ,Circulating blood ,Controlling body temperature ,Contracting muscles
,Functioning of the brain and nerves. my understanding is that metabolism is well understood function of the body, at least for the needs of any fitness questions...

It has been studied independently and collectively, by certain groups and individuals over time. There is much research on it, subject to its quality.

There is some commond ground so-to-speak, but understood-completely, not YET.

Best wishes
