How does everyone stay motivated?

I'm motivated to fit into my wedding dress.

I wish I could say that! I was pregnant in my wedding dress! I want it to be too big on me when I reach my goal!

As for my motivation? There in lies the problem...I was never really motivated before (previous diets)...which is why I failed at them. This time around though, I can just look at my baby and want to be healthier for her. I don't want her to grow up overweight like I did, so I want to be a good role model for her and teach her how to make the right choices.

I like the picture ideas noted in some previous posts...I'm going to try that...and tack them right to the fridge!

Hello ladies,

I just had a baby a couple of months ago. I was despereat to lose the weight. I came a across a great site dietybug has helped me regain the confidence I need to lose the extra baby weight. With being a new mom I needed somethign that was easy to follow and Cheap. When I came across dietbug I was shocked that it was free. Everything I needed was right there.
dietbug has been my motavation, along with my new baby.
I hope everyone reaches there goals and finds the motavation they need.

Not so new mom, but still trying to lose.

So my daughter is 13 months old and in that first year, I only lost 16lbs. I think that was from not drinking soda anymore because I rarely did any strenuous activity. I would go to the gym occasionally and take a few classes, but I never changed my eating habits. I switched jobs about a month ago, from retail to working at a veterinary clinic, and I think that's when I got my motivation to finally get my butt in gear and get this weight off. I worked at a Super Target and would buy breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. I didn't think it was crap at the time, but I look back now and wonder how many days did I really need to eat pizza for lunch? And did I have to have the breakfast sandwich? Couldn't I have gotten fruit?

Right now, I'm not following any particular diet, more of a mix of weight watchers, atkins, zone, and slimfast. I love all their recipes and it's working. I've lost 8lbs in two weeks just with eating better, increasing my water intake, and a little bit of exercise. Well, the exercise has increased recently. I live in Iowa and we just got 13 inches of snow and I had to shovel my driveway and shovel at work, quite a good workout. I don't mind it anymore if it helps me reach my goal.

I have a goal dress and a VS model taped inside my planner, but the real motivation is my friend.

We're losing together and we each get a little competitive, so if she's down I end up hitting the treadmill harder.

Of course we're waiting for the day when we get our bootys into sixes. That's frequently a topic of discussion during our weekly workouts!

I just got the book 100 Days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle. She also wrote Life is Hard, Food is Easy. It's 100 2-3 page chapters. You read one each day and there are little assignments for the day that help you keep your goal in mind and stay motivated. You can do whatever diet/weight loss plan you like along with it.

I'm not far into the book, but I've heard a lot of people who were able to stick to their diet plan. I'm hoping it will do the same for me.

my kidos are one of my main reasons.... dont want to be the fat mom dont want them to be scared to grow up and look like me... i want to be an example to them... i too do the jean thing everytime i hit a new goal i buy a size smaller pants so i have something physical to obtain... and my bf is really supportive that helps tons oh and i dont deprive myself of anything just choose a better version..(diet-reg or chocolate covered meal replacement bar - hershey bar)
