How do you lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks?

I would still like to see someone go on a 1500 pure sugar diet and lose weight consistently. That is, if they didn't die first. You're leaving out the entire nutrient part of the equation.
 
Ok, when I said 1500 calorie sugar diet, I was focusing on the calorie deficit. We all know there are way too many needed things you need to live.
 
A newer study actually referenced the paper you cited...

"Buchholz & Schoeller have limited themselves by only including the first law and, therefore, do not understand how the differential weight loss could occur and think it "deserves further study." Our major point here is that there is more than one law of thermodynamics and that a more accurate understanding of the role of the second law shows that differential weight loss is not inconsistent with any physical principle."
 
I should clarify that I am in no way advocating a specific diet. Nor am I particularly swayed by the slight metabolic advantage these studies find in low-carbohydrate diets. If we all eat healthy balanced meals we will all be happy and healthy. I just find the "calorie is a calorie" theory flawed. I have read cases where nutritionists and doctors could not understand why their patients were not losing weight despite eating low calorie diets. In some cases the problems were hormonal, in other cases they weren't. Plus there are numerous studies where, for example, group A eats 1500 calories/day but group B eats 1800 calories/day with the extra 300 calories from dairy and group B loses more weight... I've read that for milk, beans, and nuts.
If you cut calories, you should lose weight. When I cut calories, I lose weight. It just isn't as simple as "calorie is a calorie".
 
I'd like to take a short term drastic step to jump start the stalled place I'm at in my weight loss plan. I wondered if anyone could tell me how I could lose 10 lbs in two weeks? What could you recommend as the healthiest way to do that? I appreciate all input.

So I guess no one knows a healthy way to lose ten pounds in two weeks then huh?

a.) Losing 10 pounds in one week would never BE healthy, unless you weighed a VERY large amount to start with.

b.) If it was that easy AND healthy, there would be a sticky about it by now.

c.) Since you say you are three months into your program, you probably will never see a ten pound in a week weight loss, as you have probably lost all excess water weight by now. Most people see the most amount of lost weight in the first week of changing their unhealthy lifestyle.

You don't need to jump-start anything. Hone your own program to be the most effective for you and you will see your weight loss in a healthy way.

I agree that losing 10 Lbs in two weeks would be unhealthy - unless you were exercising like crazy. Plus rapid weight changes are often due to water weight fluctuations. If you were trying to lose weight for a special occassion - cutting out salt and eating foods that are naturally diuretic would result in temporary water loss. Other than that, slow and steady weight loss is the way to go.
The April 2010 Self magazine has a feature on yogurt - people who eat yogurt daily have 60% less heart disease and 80% less belly fat. I also read that people who eat yogurt or drink milk after a workout end up gaining more muscle and burning more fat... so while losing 10Lbs in 2 weeks may not be possible there are dietary changes you can make to increase your weight loss!

You eat a plateful of my mom's meatloaf. You'll shit so much that the pounds will just fly off. Well, more like splash off...into the toilet. So...yeeeeeah.
