how do loose in a healthy way!

Hi

Im 5 foot 7 and way 136lb (9stone 10). My bmi is healthy but i want to get to 9stone in a healthy way! i eat like a bird as it is and i eat one naughty meal a month as a treat. I eat really healthy and consume about 1200 calories a day yet the weight has stopped at 136.
I am fairly big framed anyway, i have a 34E cup chest and rather broad shoulders and hips but i wana be thinner! can anyone suggest anything!
 
Your current BMI is 21.3, which is probably not entirely accurate given your large breasts. It doesn't sound to me like you need to lose weight. What is your waist to hip ratio?

You may never give an overall impression of being slender with E cup breasts.

1200 calories per day might a little low. You might want to try bumping up the calorie count to see if that jump starts a weight loss. Read the sticky threads to figure out exactly how many calories a day your body needs.

ermmm i cant remember, my wasit at the small bit just above my navel is 27inch and my hips are about 40 i think! im quite hourglassy.
I will have a good look at the thread.
I've had a bad day though and just eaten two large handfuls of liquorice allsorts! whoops, extra walks with teh dog tonight then!
i am a size 10 in clothes, is it unrealistic for me to be a size 8 without being half starved? (thats the UK size ten).
I dont want to look thin but i would love to look slimmer! Maybe my naturally large frame wont allow for it though!
 
Your calories are definitely too low. I'd bump them up to at least 1400-1500 per day. You've probably slowed down your metabolism from eating too little. Also, 1200cal is very hard to maintain consistantly, making you more likely to binge. The best thing is to work out an eating plan that you can live with long term. :)

Are you doing any exercise? How about weights?
 
oh ok! thast kinda good news. i was 11 and a half stone and then i got a dog and stopped drinking beer so my weight dropped to about 10 1/2 then i started to cut back on calories and i lost a bit more. i walk the dog before and after work, power walking, so thats an hour a day and its about 1/2 walk to and from work. i occasionally do more like at the weekend. i cant afford a gym, but could do with stepping up the dog walking routine. i am rubbish at jogging, i dont think im fit enough yet to jog. do those leg weights you strap to your ankles help? any ideas for burning extra calories whilst dog walking would be great. there aren't many hills around these parts so thats a bummer, but when i can walk somewhere i do, im not lazt that way.
 
27 divided by 40 is .675 which is excellent. Anything less than .8 is healthy. Your BMI is healthy and your waist to hips ratio is healthy so if you want to lose a couple of pounds for vanity you certainly can...but you don't need to lose any weight based upon your height/weight/measurements. :)
 
oh good! thank you for that! to be honest, it is for vanity......guilty as charged. I just want to look and feel good in a bikini! i think hard core excercise and toning is the only for me now though! i would like to drop a dress size by summer to a UK size 8, but maybe that would be too thin! i like having lady lumps, i just wish they were toned at least!
 
I don't think there is anything wrong with vanity as long as it's not taken to extremes. I like feeling pretty, I like feeling slender and fit, I like getting compliments. :)
 
i agree. im too concerned with my inner health to be extreme. i just think i would look better at 9 stone! or a size (UK) 8. it makes you feel better mentally when you know you look good and has a positive affect all round!
