How do I get started?

I've just registered with this website, I'm a teenager who wants to lose weight for self confidence and to generally feel better about my body. But I don't have access to a gym, I tend to eat when I'm bored and I'm really self conscious about exercising in front of people, even just outside. I walk to school and back (each journey takes about 15-20 minutes) and I walk quite quickly. I try to walk around as much as possible at school and when I'm alone at home I do dancing and running around. I'm trying to do something about my diet by limiting my chocolate intake (I eat bars of chocolate and hazelnut quite a lot) and by not eating as many carbs, sugars, etc

But apart from that, I don't know where to start or how to stay motivated, any tips?

Walking, dancing and running around are three fantastic forms of exercise.

Maybe a pedometer would help you quantify the exercise you have done and help you know whether you have hit your target.

Those chocolate bars will not be doing you any favours so you've already worked out that they are best limited in your food plan.
If you try to swamp yourself with too rigid a food plan from the start - you will probably feel deprived - it needs to be something you can live with.
Drinking water is always good - it actually is better for you than a lot of other liquids eg diet cola, fruit juices etc - see if you can drink a couple of litres of water a day - as it is really healthy to be properly hydrated - some people mistake feelings of thirst as hunger - so eat more than they want.
Next good start is to aim for 5 portions of fruit or vegetable a day - if you google for "5 a day" you will find information regarding portion size.

As far as motivation goes - that is very tricky - but be sure to feel very proud about every day where you feel you have done some exercise and also every day where you feel you have eaten according to your current rules.

If you have a bad day - forgive yourself and don't beat yourself up as that stops you getting back on track.

Good luck.
