How did you lose the weight

So here is my story.

I am a male roughly 206 lbs and am 5 foot 6. (very overweight)

2 weeks ago I started working out and watching what I eat. I workout every morning for about an hour. I pick two body areas at medium weights and train 9 sets of 8-10 reps. That usually lasts 20-30 minutes then I finish the workout off with 20-30 minutes of cardio.

As far as eating goes, I eat very healthy for breakfast and lunch and dinner is kinda spotty on wither or not i eat healthy.

My question is, does it sounds like I am going down the right path? What did you do to drop the pounds? What kind of healthy foods are you eating?
 
Congratulations on making some great changes! My advice:

1) Do not work out with weights every day. The muscles need at least a day to rest. I would suggest lifting weights three days per week.

2) I would recommend four sets per exercise, rather than nine. You are not very specific about what kind of routine you are doing, but thirty minutes doesn't sound like long enough to do an ideal routine. Are you only doing two exercises? You want a more comprehensive approach than that.

3) I would eat six small meals per day, to keep you metabolism revved up. I (incessantly) recommend a plant-based, "Mediterranean" style diet:
