HOT for my Honeymoon!!

Hey Lisa,

That's pretty much how I feel about my heart rate monitor as well. I use it to get my heart rate up and then keep it up. My fitness has really increase... not sure I could do your work out though! Well done you :)

anna

Thank you for all the nice comments! I love coming back after the weekend and having posts!
I'm using the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor and it was $125 online but I just looked it up today and it's only $99. It a pretty basic model designed for fitness improvement. I know there are a ton of brands out there and some really fancy and flashy kinds but since I don't have a computer at home I just wanted a basic model. I read the reviews and this one sounded good.
My weekend wasn't the best. I did manage some exercise Friday and Saturday but Sunday and Monday were write offs. I got out skiing on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. My heart rate got up to 178 at one point and that was the highest I have seen it so far - mind you I haven't been to a kettle bell class yet and I'm sure that will be it's max! Maybe tonight!
I'm only working half a day today and I want to go out skiing again. It gets to dark to go after work so weekends are my only option. My legs were so sore from Saturday's ski and muscles I don't normally use so I hope to go as much as I can.
I just printed out the training program to do 100 push-ups - looks challenging but I'll give it my best shot. Only 61 more sleeps now till the cruise. I'm pretty disappointed that I had so much time to get serious about my plan and stick to it and now it's only months away and i'll never get to where I wanted. I just need to move forward and try the best I can for the next two months - progress can still be made so I just need to keep telling myself that. I need to start being more careful with my eating and not indulging over the weekends. Focus Lisa Focus!

Hey Lisa!

I used to cross country a lot when I was a kid.....where I grew up figure skating and cross country skiing a really the only option one had with out having to drive 30 min or more....in my case I even had to drive to get to figure skating, It's great exercise and it's outdoors so good for our lungs. I should look and see if there are any trails out here if they have all been given to skidoos....you diary is such an inspiration!

You should be so proud with all you have acomplished!!!! The end result may not be the ones you wanted but you are so far from where you started, not just physically, but mentally and fitness wise. Life isn't perfect neither can we!!!! Keep working the way you are you are already so great looking, so you can only be hot for the trip!

Thanks so much Veronique! I do feel good about where I stand fitness wise however there is always room for improvement. I just wish I didn't have so much cellulite on my thighs - not very attractive in a bathing suit! And my tummy - ugh. Oh well I realize I will never perfect those areas. I can keep trying though, lol.
I bet they do have some ski trails around you - I was surprised how many trails we have here I never knew about. The fresh air is so great too!

Yesterday was a great day! Eating was right on track around 1400 calories and I got a great workout in!
Went cross country skiing in the afternoon and shaved 10 min off my time from the weekend! I felt so fast and my heart rate didn't even get as high. I burned 300 calories during the ski. Looking forward to going again on the weekend.
I also made it to kettle bell class! It wasn't as intense of a class as usual and I only burned 470 calories in the hour so I decided to hop on the treadmill after the class and ran 1.5 miles in 16 minutes and called it a night. Burned a total of 670 calories at the gym.
Decided I have to weight in this week at WW or else I will never get my weight back on track. Going to go Friday no matter what and start again from there...only 9 more weigh-ins till the cruise!

Hey Lisa! You looked beautiful on New Year's Eve! And it sounds like you're having fun with the new heart rate monitor! 61 more sleeps is a long time, you may not get to where you had hoped but you can still make a lot of progress! You're on the right track, just keep on trucking and don't worry about the time you feel you missed.

Sounds like you had a very fit day Yesterday!!! Keep it up you might be suprised where you are on friday!

Thanks Laura and Veronique! I'm feeling in the groove again! I realized that if I bust my ass the next 60 days I can still get to 140 or pretty darn close and I felt great at that weight so I'm just going to put in the effort every single day. I think because it feels so close I'm really focused on the goal at hand. Only 59 more sleeps now!!!

Yesterday was another great day! I woke up today feeling skinny and tight and it was great motivation to keep it up! The scale said 152 so not too far off from my WW weigh-in before the holidays - hopefully it's down even further tomorrow for the official weigh-in. Here's how yesterday looked:

I didn't track the calories but I think I was close to 1300.
B - 1/3 cup all bran buds, ff activia yogurt, 1/3 cup blueberries & 3/4 cup strawberries, peppermint tea
L - veggie salad - romaine, shredded carrot, sweet onion, cucumber, red pepper, tomato, black olives with ff poppyseed dressing, peppermint tea
Exercise - 60 min treadmill - 5.4 miles, push-ups & pull-ups on exercise ball, stretch 700 calories burned.
D - chicken stirfry - olive oil, 4-5 oz chicken, shredded carrot, slivered almonds, onion, green & red peppers, water chestnuts, sliced cucumber, chicken broth, & some seasoning.
Snack - lg apple, 2 stone wheat crackers

That was it!! I was so tempted to eat more snacks before bed but I kept telling myself - 60 days Lisa - be strong - you can do it!! I want results!

Tonight is kettle bell class again and I'm pretty excited for it. It's supposed to snow a bunch today though so I hope the roads are okay to drive back into town tonight. I'll make sure to do a kettle bell workout at home if I don't get to go. :seeya:

:D! Great job girl!!! I'm really excited for your vacation!!! It's gonna be soooo AMAZING!!! Honeymoon :drool5:! Looking all hot like you do!!!

So proud of you!!! :cheers2:!!! I haven't had one of those skinny and tight mornings in SO LONG!!!! This morning I stepped on the scale and it said I gained 5lbs in 4 days!!! WTF?!! After a long talk with Christen yesterday, I realized that I am not eating no where near 1,200 calories and that my body is probably in shock as to the amount of food that I am getting and storing EVERYTHING even my water intake, and also with all the exercise I've been getting too!! :(

I realize, that yes, I do need WW. I am going to join online in a couple minutes. I hope this helps me. It's a SCIENCE, I know. I just have to figure it out, and realize that my body too works on that science. Not just everyone else's.

You are a great inspiration, woman! It's almost so demotivating as well though, to see you at the weight that I was at last year, and now be 20lbs heavier than you!!! :banghead: How the heck does that happen!? UGGHHH!!!

Way to go!! You can totally reach 140 in 60 days if you keep working this hard!!!I know you can do it :)
Thanks for the motivation!!

Every morning I get up I think about the trip and remind myself of my goals - it's really helping me stay focused! I know I've said it before but I've never been more excited for anything in my life - not even the wedding!!

:So proud of you!!! :cheers2:!!! I haven't had one of those skinny and tight mornings in SO LONG!!!! !!!
You'll be back there soon I just know it! - consistency will get you there before you know it!! One day at a time girl!

I think WW is a great idea - if I had a computer at home I would do the online tracking too. My mom just signed up for it actually. It totally is science and as soon as you find out what works for you it makes things so much easier to follow. I'm really excited to get back to my meetings today - I need the accoutability to stay on track!
I know once you start kicking some butt consistently your weight will drop fast - Tuesday morning I was 156 on my scale at home and today I was 150.8. I know some of your weight is water weight plus once you start eating lots of fiber daily a few pounds are sure to be dropped, lol! Did for me anyway!!

Ok so yesterday was another awesome day! I made good choices and had an awesome workout. I haven't been counting calories or points the last couple days - just listening to my body and eating when I'm hungry - making sure my choices are healthy and filling. So far I think it's working for me. Here's how the day went:
B - 1/3 cup all bran buds, ff activia yogurt, 1/3 cup blueberries & 3/4 cup strawberries, peppermint tea
L - veggie salad - romaine, shredded carrot, sweet onion, cucumber, red pepper, tomato, black olives with low fat poppyseed dressing, peppermint tea
Exercise - 35 min easy on treadmill, 3.8 mph & incline 4 - just wanted to do some walking while watching tv and burnt an extra 230 calories.
D - 5-6 oz baked chicken breast w onion & seasonings, brussel sprouts & baby potatoes
Exercise - 1 hr kettle bell class - it was a lot more intense than Tuesday's class! I burnt 600 calories in 63 minutes.
Snacks - lg apple, tbsp slivered almonds

Since hubby is off work for the winter he has been cooking dinners and I have been really impressed with his efforts to make things healthy. He even got on the treadmill yesterday afternoon. I think all my talk about the cruise and looking good is rubbing off on him! I can only hope!

So I'm really focusing on making it a good weekend - health wise. I tried to make lots of plans so I keep busy and active. Looking forward to a long cross country ski Sunday and shopping with a girlfriend Saturday. Tonight I'm going to go to the gym after work and pick up a movie on the way home. Hubby is jamming with the band so I'm looking forward to a quiet night and bed early. Saturday night we have dinner plans with friends so that's the only time I might slip a bit. I already told hubby I would drive so no drinks for me which will really help with the eating. I'll report back Monday!

Have a great, healthy weekend forum friends!

Up 0.2 pounds in a month. Sitting at 151.6 officially. Looking forward to kicking butt this week and having a good loss next week! It feels good to have faced the music and be on the right path again. 8 more weigh-ins till the cruise - goal 140!

thats not a bad gain at all! nip in in the bud and get back on track girl :) You are going to look so hot for your honeymoon!! A cruise/ trip is so motivating!! Dont be like I did though.. I lost 15 lbs for a cruise and felt great but when i got there (it was my first cruise) I went crazy on the food and drinks and gained 8 lbs back in a week!! here i am 2 years later still with that 8 lbs..so when you get there maintain control!!! It is harder that it sounds trust me :)

Thanks Christen! I plan to have a good weigh-in next week and get back to the 140's again soon!
It's my first cruise too and I'm sure I will go over board with the eating and drinking and I'm sure I will gain probably 10 pounds but this will probably be the only cruise I ever go on and you only live once so I'm not going to worry about it too much. I will want to take advantage of the gym occassionaly because my stomach gets really upset if I don't keep that up - along with lots of fiber! We also made sure to book some hiking excursions and I'm sure we will burn a few calories in our room since it is our honeymoon!
I know it seems crazy to work so hard to gain it all back in two weeks but I think that's better than not losing and still coming back 10 pounds heavier!

Thanks Veronique! I know a lot of hard work is needed before I get there but I'm ready to keep pushing!

My weekend was ok. Could have been a lot worse and could have been better. The main thing is I am ready to get back to healthier meals and lots of working out today! Not tomorrow - not Wednesday - TODAY!

Friday - took the night off working out and stayed around 1600 calories.

Saturday - did a workout at home - burned 550 cals in 50 min. Did intervals of running on the treadmill and kettle bell swings - also some walk out pushups and situps. Went shopping with a friend and spent 4 hours walking around and standing - my hips were actually sore from shopping which I thought was pretty funny. Totally forgot to eat until 2:30pm and had a 6inch turkey sub from subway - no cheese or mayo (I was still being good).
Then we had a dinner party to go to and I went a little crazy on bread w garlic oil, home made pizza, salad and sex in a pan for dessert. There were also chips and sugar candies everyone was sharing and I didn't refuse. Only had 1 1/2 glasses of red wine so that was a plus. Hubby was trying to convince me to drink and spend the night but I wasn't feeling like blowing the diet any further and still stayed and had a good time sober.

Sunday - slept in late and picked up a friend and went to the gym around 1pm. Did an hour workout and burned 600 calories - ran 5km on the treadmill and then did some barbell exercises and push-ups. The friend I brought is trying to decide to join or not and just paid the day fee and was really impressed with my workout after the treadmill. She said she would never think to do her own thing and always just uses the resistance machines. I told her about my discovery with my heart rate monitor and she was impressed - made me feel good to spread my knowledge.
I was good during the day again with eating - salad and yogurt and then for dinner we went to a friends again and I had two glasses of red wine and more chips and muchies - it would be so easier if I was programmed to say no.
Otherwise it wasn't horrible and I could have made a lot worse choices so I'm not feeling too guilty today. I know my workouts helped and I plan to get another good one in today.

It snowed so much over the weekend and dropped down to minus 32 (Celcius) with the wind chill so I didn't get out skiing. Hopefully this weekend is nicer. It's still snowing hard today so I'm taking the afternoon off - otherwise I might not make it back to the country tonight. I'm going to do a workout at home - probably intervals with the treadmill and kettle bell again - maybe pop in the 30 day shred dvd. We shall see! I have lots of house work to do too since I didn't get to that this weekend! I skipped breakfast because I ate so many snacks at our friends last night and my tummy is pretty upset - lots of mint tea and water today! fiber too!!

Nice workouts over the weekend! I think you did great despite the snacking... but that's what parties are for so don't feel bad -- just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't enjoy the same things that everyone else gets to enjoy!

Today I started a new notebook where I am writing down what I eat. I did really well with it when I used to track my food so hopefully I can stick with it again. I told my best friend/roommate that she is going to do the 100 push ups program with me. I printed off the schedule for it (in the pocket book format, I folded it up and it's a little book now!) and wrote dates on it across each week so I know when to do it. Apparently it's only 3 days a week, so I'm going to do my push ups on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Are you ready to do it? I'm starting today :D

Also I'm starting the 5K training program again and I told my roommate that she should do it with me. She is the stoner of my friends (lol) and said "I'm gonna have a reeeeal hard time cuz my lungs are shit and I ran once this whole winter break" ... I said "that's why it's called a TRAINING program!" haha. So hopefully she does it with me so I'll be more motivated to keep up with it.

I'm SO ready for a good week and excited that you are too. I forget where you are going on your cruise... please refresh my memory! I went on a cruise in 6th grade and loved it... it would be fun to do it again! We went to the Virgin Islands and it was cool because we got to see a different island every day. I bet you are getting really excited for it! Gotta love vacation especially with all this snow :( We are getting hit with it right now!

Have a great day Lisa!

Hey Sarah - I haven't started the push-up program yet only because i forgot how long you time yourself during the inital test - I think it's for a minute but I keep forgetting to double check. I did print off the 6 weeks though and will start Wednesday so I'm on the same schedule.
We are leaving on March 13th and spending 4 nights in Arizona with my parents & sisters and then flying to Fort Lauderdale and spending one night in a hotel before we board our ship. It's a 10 day cruise around Eastern Caribbean and we are stopping at places like Antigua, Barbados, St. Thomas and two more I can't remember at this time. We booked excursions like zip lining and wine tasting and massages and facials on the boat. It's going to be a trip of a lifetime for us! Then a couple months after I get home I want to start trying for a family! I have a lot to look forward to this year and being fit and healthy would make it so much better!

Ok so Monday didn't turn out how I planned but I got a lot done at home and eating was good so it was a decent day. Here's how it looked:
B - mint tea (my tummy was too sore for food)
L - veggie salad - lettuce, tomato, shredded carrot & black olives w olive oil & balsamic vinegar
Snack - apple
So after lunch I cleaned for about 3 hours and then hubby asked if I wanted to snuggle and watch a movie we got on the weekend but never got around to watching. I agreed and 10 min before the movie was about to end we both fell asleep. Woke up at 7:30pm!
D - 4oz pickerel w frosted flakes crumbs baked, light ceasar salad & 3 mini vegetable rolls
It was too late to exercise after dinner or else I never would have been able to get back to sleep.
Snacks - 1/2 glass diet coke, ff activia yogurt
So overall eating was good but I really would have liked to get a workout in.

Tonight I'm going to make up for the missed workout and attend yoga for beginners followed by kettle bell circuit! I'm excited to try yoga and hopefully make a habit of going once a week. I think because it's a beginners class I will have no problem going to kettle bell afterwards. I'm bringing a second set of clothes just in case I sweat more than I plan to during yoga.

Awesome! I have a ring that I got in Antigua that I have worn every day since I got it (when I was 11 years old)! We also went to St. Thomas. My dad lived on that island for a few months when he was in his 20's. My mom and dad booked a trip to stay on St. Thomas at the end of March! I know you will love it. The Caribbean waters are so beautiful. Plus, all the stuff you have planned so far sounds wonderful!

Great day yesterday with eating! It looks like you stayed under on your calories so I think it's okay that you skipped the workout. Have fun at yoga tonight! I took a "yogalates" (yoga + pilates) class once or twice... I just don't have patience for it though! It is relaxing and I'm sure it will be a nice stretch and warm up for kettlebell... go kick some ass tonight :coolgleamA:

Have a good day!
