Hmm, I guess I'm new.... again

I used to be a moderator here. I'm not sure if that's still the case. The forum has changed drastically and I'm having trouble making heads or tails. I'd imagine I'm not a mod given how long I've been absent. I'm wondering about private messages though? I can't seem to send any as it states I have too many in my inbox. I deleted a bunch, but it looks like I can't have more than 1 in m inbox or sent folders. That seems wrong... is anyone else having problems with it?

Anyhow, I just wanted to swing by and see what this community was up to. I think I had like 10,000 posts here or something... I truly thought of this place as my home on the 'net. Any familiar faces out there?

Yes, things have changed a little, and it's confusing once in a while. I tried to check your mailbox settings, but there seems nothing to do. Underneath the window with the messages there should be a bar that says x/150 messages (or at least for me it says 150). Behind that, there's a clickable 'Empty folders' option. Have you tried that? That's the only thing I can think of from the top of my head.

In your profile, it says 'primary usergroup 'Moderators', so it looks as if you're still a mod. And you're being too modest....you had over 17.000 posts.

Your skills and knowledge are needed here as much as ever... I still direct people to some of your threads... LOL you will probably be surprised by the new people here that have heard of you by your old threads.

I hope that things are going well for you. I have looked in on your forum a few times earlier this year - but you seemed at that time to have disappeared from there too...

I came back too after quite a long absence - a little plumper (thankfully not too much) and a whole lot wiser about how maintenance gets hard when things get stressful......

I'm doing great, thanks. Hopefully you can say the same. Yeah, I can't quite get used to this forum template. It doesn't seem very user friendly. And it really stinks that I can't PM. I just tried as you suggested hitting the "clear folder" or whatever it is and now my bar at the bottom reads, "Inbox contains 0 messages. You have 0 messages stored, of a total 1 allowed."

Very strange.

Yeah, I lost the love and time for spending lots of time on forums. Tends to happen when kids enter the picture, lol. I'd rather be running around outside with them then sitting behind a computer. Plus, my business really started transitioning from in-person training to web based coaching... so in my free time I just couldn't drag myself to the computer.

But things are going well! Thanks for pointing people to my posts around here. I took a lot of pride in pumping as much info into this community as I could. It was an awesome place!

Sean is certainly still the man in charge - but he is a busy man - and does not get a chance to spend as long here as I am sure he would like...

I have told people that the archive of old postings (and featuring many of your postings) is one of the biggest assets that this forum has. That knowledge combined with mutual support can work wonders for people.

It does not surprise me that your business is doing well - particularly the on-line side of things. You certainly helped a lot of people here on-line.

As for your message problem - I presume that you have chopped down your messages sent side of things... It may be worth checking the my messages / edit folders to see an overview of the messages situation... I know that the messages sent side seems to hog a lot of my space - lol I keep running out of space with issuing infractions.

I'll post something in the moderators section to say that you are back and having difficulty with sending messages. Maybe Sean or someone more experienced will have an idea how this problem can be resolved.

It looks like the primary usergroup of "Moderators" is an old one - and not set up right.

Sean has changed you over into a regular user to sort out your message problem. I guess that if you then find that you have the time to spend more time here and mod you could always send him a message and discuss such things...

The main thing is that you should be back able to send messages. If you still have a problem - let me know and I will raise the issue again.

That is pretty coincidental. I was very fortunate to obtain a new client who found me on this forum a week ago. When he told me this is where he heard of me... I figured it's time to start popping my head around here again.

It was the natural evolution. I spent years posting on communities such as this. I'm very thankful people were receptive to my delivery of information and before long people were emailing me asking if they could hire me for web based consulting. I suppose I'm also lucky that the training industry is so crappy... most people can't find a quality coach that's local to them.

I built a platform out, and this is going back years now... and since then it has really blown up. I live and die by referrals since I don't get onto communities like this as often as I used to and I don't like spamming.
