Im sorta coming out of denial to come here, but I do need HELP.

Im going to go without sugar, flour and wheat and add exercise.

I just need support to keep me motivated, and people who understand.

Thank you! Im not good at asking for help, guess that should be my first goal!

I am going to Mardis Gras tonight, I really really really only want club soda, but I know my friend is going to want to drink beer...

any ideas on how I can approach her?
 
I'm not sure how you would approach her. I'm not a beer drinker, but I like mixed drinks on occassion. You could tell her you're not in the mood to drink tonight or maybe you'll be the designated driver (I don't know if you have to drive there or not). Or you could come right out and tell her you are watching your calorie intake and that beer is full of calories. If she's a good friend she will understand and be supportive.

(As for not being good at asking for help, I have the same problem myself! Let me tell you it has gotten me into more trouble than it's worth and now I'm learning to open up and ask for help when I need it.)

Yes, my name is Beth. (Guess my screen name gives me away, huh? LOL!) Now, I'm wondering - is your name Jill? Sure, I'd like to be weight loss buddies!!! That would be great!!! I'm on here just about every day. It's always easier to lose weight when you have lots of support!

It's hard isn't it. My approach, and it may not be the right one, is that I'm not going to bore my friends with my diet so when I go out it's semi-suspended.

I try not to eat and drink too much but a few social drinks isn't going to be a tragedy. For the rest of the day and the next if need be I try to make up for it, after all it's what I eat over the whole week that counts. Over Christmas that plan came a bit unstuck, but hey, it was Christmas.

Have a good night and promise to pay back with interest if you drink too much. If you can avoid putting on any weight this week mark that down as a small success and try to do even better next week. :)
 
Hi Ned! Yeah, dieting can be difficult with the social life! But I agree that once in a while it should be okay to break the cycle without getting totally derailed. I've had better luck lately than I have in the past, which is definitely a good thing for me! Welcome aboard and I hope to get to chat with you more!

Just wondering if you are trying any of the Arbonne weightloss products. I have went from May 2006 weighing 279 pounds to my current 188 with the Figure 8 program. I don't use all of the products but do use several and if you want I can let you know which ones I feel have helped me.
