Hello, so I am getting a hip arthroscopy on February 17th. Basically, they go in with small cameras and shave off part of my hip socket that is tearing my cartilage. Then they sew the cartilage up. So, my surgeon said it would be best if I was as fit and healthy as possible when the surgery takes place so that the recovery can go smoother and faster. The more useful muscles I have before the surgery, the easier it will be for me to get my strength back. I would say I am relatively fit, and pretty healthy, but I would like to get more core strength, and upper body strength since I will be maneuvering on crutches for a bit. I also should prob up my calcium/vitamin d levels to help with the bone and cartilage. I just really dont like milk....
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me, what to do as far as workouts go before my surgery, and anything I should do as far as my diet.
I guess I should also mention, I can't do high impact stuff, cause my knee is not the best. I have screws there as well as by my hip that they will be taking out during the surgery as well. I do not have access to a gym. Just 8lb dumbells, resistance bands, and a yoga mat at home.
Ok, so, any suggestions? I guess I just want to be as fit as possible with the limited exercise that I can do.
