Hi,
Being a fitness novice, I've found this forum essential reading to complement my daily fitness routine and I'd like to thank all those who have contributed to my previous questions.
After taking some excellent advice after hitting my plataeu, I've switched from a 5 day aerobic, to a 1-2-1-2-1 plan [where 1 is aerobic and 2 is weights.]
This has made a big difference to my overall shape and I'm very pleased with the results acheived in a very small space of time.
I really would like to loose the fat faster, and I've read about how HIIT [hi impact training, just incase I got it wrong] can help me along.
My 30 minute aerobic workout consists of 15 minutes on a cross-trainer and 15 minutes on a recumbent cycle, both made by LifeFitness.
Both machines have a 'Hill' setting, which consists of 7 minutes warm up, then 4 * 45 second hills with 45 second rests in between. Then a 2 minute cool down.
What I've been doing is taking it at -10% my usual speeds on the warm-up and rest, then 130% [or as fast as I can go] for the hills.
Is this considered HIIT, and do you think there would be a better method for loosing the fat ?
TIA
Jay
