Hello, I'm Sherry

I weigh 200lbs and I'm 5"7. I gained 50lbs when I got pregnant and haven't lost any at all, my baby is 5 months. I am planning on buying an elliptical machine and counting calories. Can someone tell me some ways to burn fat, would the elliptical be enough if i did 4-5 times a week an hr. Couple with sit ups, push ups?

Also where can I find how many calories I am supposed to stay under for my own stats?

Any info is appreciated, I havent been overweight since I was a kid and it's really frustrating that I don't fit into any of my clothes. I feel slightly depressed and even though i really want to lose the weight I cant seem to motivate myself enough to just get started!

Hello!! Welcome to WLF, I hope you find this to be a great place for support and information.

You could start by reading around the forums and checking out the "stickies" alot of those are located in the "on topic" section. You might also want to start a journal. That way you have a place to post your progress and we'll know where to find you!!

While I am not a fitness person by any means...what I can tell you is that the most important thing is that you just start moving. If you've never used the elliptical before, you could start with 10 minutes twice a day for a few dys...if thats what you can handle...and then every week add some more time to your workout. Try to find whats best for you. As long as you get moving you'll be on the right path!
