hiii,elliptical or exercise bike

hiii evryone...am new 2 dis forum..am 21 F..i weigh 176 lbs and am 5'6..my aim is 2 reach 130lbs in 6 months..is it possible...?i hav not done much exercise till now..but now i hav 2 reduce my weight....am gonna do diet and coming 2 the exercise..i dont hav much time daily 2 go 2 the gym..and v dont have any gyms near by.so i thought of buying either an elliptical machine or an exercise bike..so what do u guys suggest me...which is more effective...is it elliptical or exercise bike..reply soon pls...
 
Elliptical is mainly used for people who have trouble with certain condition such as knee problem and cannot run for that or other reasons. Bike is used as an alternative to running as well. In one study from a University, which i can't seem to remember but will get back to you on it, they put these to the test and realize that running yield more calories, followed by the stair master, then Elliptical and bike. However these studies did not indicated at which level and resistance so it is unclear to state which one is better. It is a matter of preference. One principle many over look is the principle of overload, which just states that in order to achieve results you have to work at a higher rate than your normally used to. That being said, which one do you feel the most comfortable with? Whether you purchase an elliptical or bike, you have to enjoy what your doing, because you would more likely do it. Associate with something positive not negative. I believe that any of the machines you pick should be suitable for you, since your the one that's going to be using it. P.s Intensity plays a big role on what kind (not how many) calories your burning, and it does not matter whether it is on the bike or elliptical.
