hi!

Hi,
I joined this forum for help with my weight loss journey.
My stats:
Age: 21
Female
Weight: 143 lbs
Height 5'2
Body comp: unknown

My goal is to lose at least 13 lbs. I gained approx 15 lbs when since i left high school. Ive tried to commit to working out but i work full time ( a sedentary job ) and i go to school full time ( 4x a week for 3 hrs ). Im usually tired and thus my excuse for not working out.

HOWEVER, i am now determined to lose weight. I started to calculate my calories intake which is between 1600-1800 cal a day. I switched to wheat pasta about 2 months and eat fruit daily. Since reading this forum ive added veggies daily and stay away from bread. I also bought an aerobic/strength training DVD for the days i dont want to go the gym and stay home.

So i am looking for advice.
I eat the multigrain cheerios for bfast (ditched the honeynut thank you Chillen ) and an apple.
lunch- i eat a progresso soup ( various flavors usually go with low sodium/reduced fat )
dinner-wheat pasta or chicken or turkey burger. I add broccoli, corn, or carrots at night.
Snacks- cheese and crackers, celery w/ peanut butter, any kind of fruit

so any and all suggestions are welcome!

Breakfast - switch out the cheerios with oatmeal - oldfashioned or steel cut oats.
Lunch - Boneless/Skinless Chicken breast or Tuna fish with some form of carb
Dinner - Same idea as lunch - protein + carb + veggies

Example protein sources - milk, eggs, cottage cheese, lean red meat, fish
Example carb sources - rice, potatoes (particularly sweet potatoes), oats

Make sure to get enough sleep, keep moving around during the day and drink lots of water.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome!

I was eating steel oats for a while, very healthy, but switched to whole grain cherrios like you because I got burnt out. Try adding fresh blueberries or strawberries to your cereal with fat free milk, its really good and you get in some extra fruit!

for dinners an idea could be baking fish like tilapia or salmon with some veggies.

also, you dont have to forbid yourself from having bread as long as its whole grain, no enriched flour, just dont over do it on the bread intake.

There is an area on this site called "Articles" where you can find lots of helpful info!
Good luck!
