Hi, my name is Rosie. I have an appointemnt to see a Dr at UCLH on the 17th to hopefully be given a gastric balloon. I am at my wits end.:banghead:

Hi RosieP, welcome and wishing you the best with your surgery. Medical techniques have greatly increased, you have no worry. Please stop by to tell us how your doing afterwards.

Welcome to the forum.

We have a great section on the surgical approach here - so I am sure there will be people there who can answer questions about their own experiences with a gastric balloon.

I didn't opt for a surgical approach and (after many failed attempts) managed to bring my BMI down from 52 by food control and exercise... I am interested why you feel that you need to opt for a surgical approach. All weight loss (including that triggered by surgery) involves eating less calories.

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends

Good luck with your project.

I live in London and also considering Gastric Balloon

Hi RosieP

How was your appt on the 17th with UCLH? I'm seriously considering getting it done but the feedback seems 50/50 even with those who make a positive diet and exercise change.

Do you mind telling me which company you're going through and how much it is? Again I find this varies with some offering counselling for 6 months and others for 6 months after the balloon is removed.

Will your Balloon be filled with Saline or Air?

Hope it's all going well with you
