My name is Katy and I am 21 yrs old, about to graduate college. I will be a junior high teacher and I need all the confidence I can get to deal with those kids and i know I would be way more confident if I can loose some weight. Right now I am 5'3'' and weigh about 165, I have not gotten a scale yet (tomorrow) so that I can get a real weigh-in. I used to be in great shape when I was playing sports in high school and the weight really added up after I got to college and was a lot less active
I do all of the easy things like drink water and take the elevator instead of the stairs but I need to work on my self-control. I have a hard time limiting what food I eat and the amount. I am going to get really serious about this though and I can't wait to start feeling better!! Any encouragement or advice would be awesome!

Welcome to the forum! My advice to you is to be patient!! Don't go on some fad diet or cut out all of your favorite foods.. Just try to make better decisions and eat smaller portions so it is manageable..If you do this and workout you will definitely see some results but it will take time! Good luck! Everyone here is really supportive and helpful! I would also recommend starting a diary on here!

Congrats on your graduation and new job! You'll need vitamins, too, lol, working with young teens. I used to run my own drama workshop and that age was by far the most interesting but exhausting to work with.

Coming aboard here is a great start. I just signed up Friday and it has been a life saver for me!

Lots of success to you!

Colleen

thanks

Thanks, I will definitely try to be more patient. I was wondering where you got those countdown lines so that I can make one too.
