Hi,
I am new to this forum, but not new to weight loss problems. I am a 31 y/o Mom of 2 Beautiful kids ( at least when they are behaving...LOL) and am a Firefighter's wife of 10 years. In high school I thought I was fat at 120 pounds & decided to go on an exlax diet throwing in constant excersise for 3 hours a day. It wasn't until I watched my best friend that was my partner in weightloss, get very ill from dropping so much weight so fast, that I realized the damage that I was doing to my body. Now I am paying for it. I weigh 223pounds ( i droped 7 so far) i am insulin dep. Diabetic & not happy with myself one bit. I'm not one to over eat or eat when I am bored, the dr's say that I don't have a thyroid problem, but no matter what happened I couldn't break this mark. So about 2 weeks ago I had it! Since then I have been going to the local community center & working out. Drinking more water & trying to stay away from sodas...Dr. Pepper is my securtiy blanket!!! I have been limiting myself to one a day

My hubby who is the best weighs prob. 140 pounds soaking wet & is 6'3" & needs to lose weight like he needs another hole in his head, but bless him, he has been my work out buddy. He is also training officer at his deprtment & they workout there, so sometimes he is not in the mood for another hours worth. I recently started Yoga with my mother in law & that was alot of fun. I never realized how much it takes out of you.
So anyway, that's me. I look forward to making new friends & hopefully being lighter...let me change that I will be lighter if the Dr. Pepper doesn't get ahold of me...LOL~
