Hi, My name is Nicole. I'm 22 and 5'4" and currently weight at about 169 lbs. I really want to be in the range that are healthy for my height like 110 to 130s. I'm not even sure if that's correct. But all in all, I'd like to drop down to 130 lbs. I am not big on working out but I kept finding myself really despressed after a day of shopping and none of the clothes that I really like fits in the right way. It is helping me to be in shape, and not to whine about it. I just have a hard time to find a good start.

I am not big on doing sit ups or things like that. I like to keep it interesting. I'd like to go to a gym but I have no car due to money issues and bus system around here sucks so if you guys have an idea for me to do something at home, that'd be great.

Hey Nicky! Welcome :D
I can't wait until the cute clothes I want will fit me! I know what you mean :)
No one is big on exercise at first, but once you get into a routine, you will look forward to it.
There are some great books for home workouts. If you can get some dumbbells and a ball, you will be suprised at how much you can do just at home. Even a work out dvd could help. have you tried pilates? It's great for strengthening your core, and overall, your whole body.
Good luck, and PM me if you ever need to talk or anything :)

Welcome! You will be at 130 in no time! You should start a journal on here to keep track of your food because nutrition, not exercise is actually going to make the biggest difference in weight loss. Exercise is still important, though, since you will want to be a toned 130. I would suggest Pilates like Britta said, or Tae Bo (the abs and butt dvd is INTENSE). Also, you can buy some hand weights and look up some exercieses online to get you started. After you get in the routine of working out, you may want to start doing more to focus on specific body areas. Welcome to the forum, you will hopefully find a lot of useful information on here (and a lot of interesting people).

Thank you you two! I have always drinking water, but I find myself needing to eat alot so I need to cut down on that and just eat small.

I brought 4 DVDs. Belly Dance: Basics and Beyond by Jenna; 1 DVD from Yoga Booty Ballet, and 2 DVDs from TaeBo. It's a bootcamp kind of thing. I understand I'll be very tired after TaeBo. I really dont want to be that toned so I'll do it two or three times a week and just do sit ups everyday because most of my plms is targeted at my tummy area.

I am wondering...it is true if we work out and lose some pounds, the breast size will also drop? You see, I have big breasts for my height and I'm really uncomfortable with it. Thanks! :)

That sounds great, you should let us know which of those DVDs you end up liking the most. With the sit-ups, I would look up some stomach exercises online because the basic sit up/crunch doesnt actually do much. But also just as you lose the weight, you will discover that you may already have a toned tummy underneath the fat. Your breast size may drop some, but since you dont have a ton to lose, it probably wont be a full cup size or anything, but who knows, they may surprise you. You should start a diary on here to keep track of your calories and exercise and also it will help you get to know other people on this forum and they will give you encouragement. See you around!

Why is sit ups isnt good for the tummy area? I hear it from a friend that says it does.

I'm planning to lose about 30 lbs or more. It won't help my breast size to be a size smaller. I'm 40D or 38D, depends on who made the bras. I would love to be like 38A or 36D...So it's more fitting my body size.

I'll start a diary in here. :)

Well sit ups just arent as effective as some other stomach exercises. And they also only target a small portion of your abs. I will look to see if I can find an article on this later and I'll post it in here.
