Hi everyone,

I stumbled upon this board looking for some tips on how to lose weight and I started thinking I might do better if I joined. I feel it's a great motivator to have people to share your weight loss hurdles with!

i'm a thirty-one year old woman from Belgium (my native language is Dutch). I'm married and have a son, and I'm an English teacher at a co-ed highschool.

I've been battling my weight for about eight years. Back then I wanted to lose about 20 pounds to fit into my wedding dress, and I succeeded by sticking to an eating plan made up by a dietician.

Unfortunately I gained back that weight and an additional 35 pounds with having my baby and basically stuffing myself with comfort food when I suffered from postnatal depression.

Ever since I've been trying to lose the weight with some half-hearted attempts at sports and a new food plan, but it never worked because I wasn't really motivated enough.

I feel I'm in a better place in my life right now, I'm feeling more confident and on top of things, so I believe I'm ready for a real try now.

I weigh 86.5 kilos, that's about 191 pounds, and I'm aiming for 70 kilos (around 155 pounds) by July.

Hello and welcome.

Its a good group here! All awesome peeps! We all get off the wagon. I plan to see a nutritionist, but I am not going on a diet. I just want to know what I can eat and what I cant eat and pretty much, make my own meals, which I think is a good way to go.

You are probably here to make a lifestyle change, time to get on with a "diet", but diets are temporary, lifestyle changes are permanent and keep the weight off ..so good on you!

Once you figure out how you want to eat ... you might want to check out fitday.com ..for caloric intakes and deficits ... and proposal of when you can meet your goals ... or goal ... its a good way to go anyway

Its amazing how you can gain weight back. I have a wedding dress that I will be wearing .. I dont know when, but I will be one hundred pounds lighter to one fifty lighter ..it will be awhile ..but well worth it ...

Its great you found us. There is a section for moms I believe ...

good luck
and best wishes
keep trecking
you have already made your first step... you might want to start a diary to give and recieve support ..

always
natalie jo :cheers2:
