HI Everyone,

My name is Maria but everyone can call me Billo. I am 26 years old, 5 ft 6, and weight 128 lbs.

Last year I graduated from university and started my first real job and gained 8 lbs in the process. It was hard for me to go from chilled out university student to a working women so i guess the weight piled on. I also moved from Atlanta, Georgia to northern Alberta, Canada, so that didnt help either.

I started counting calories and working out about 6 weeks ago and have lost 6 lbs so far and am aiming for about 122lbs or 17 to 18% body fat. I calculated my body fat online (where you insert your measurements) and it stated I was at 20% body fat. I am not sure if thats accurate so I just bought the Omron Body Fat loss Analyzer off of Ebay a few days ago so lets see what that tells me when it arrives. Ill keep you posted:)

Anyways, the reason I joined this forum is because my boyfriend ALWAYS talks about how informative and helpful people are here and give out awesome advice.

So I was wondering, does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of fat on your back....I have the hardest time toning my upper back and also how to rev up your metabolism? I have started to incorporate weight lifting into my work out routine so maybe that should help. Any advice will be helpful....Thanks:)

Oh by the way, for those who have an Iphone, there is a GREAT app called "LoseIT!" and it has helped me so much. They ask you to input your goal weight and tells you how many calories you should eat each day to lose a certain about of weight a week (1/2 lbs a week, 1lbs a week and so forth). IT also has a food journal you can keep and lets you enter you weight in everyday to compare your progress. I personally dont weight myself everyday but its a good way to keep track of what you have lost. I hope it helps other out as much as it did me.

Get Rid Of Back fat

Get regular physical activity.

Yes, you're going to have to exercise to get rid of back fat. If you have a gym nearby, try getting a membership. Swimming and kickboxing are excellent ways to burn calories and tone your back, as are rowing machines and "upper-body ergometers". Whatever you choose, the important part is that the exercise is regular. For major fat burning, try for 30-60 minutes a day of something that gets your heart pumping and makes you sweat. Avoid exercising right before bed, or you'll have a hard time sleeping - and getting enough sleep is extremely important when trying to lose weight.

THanks so much for the advice....I tried rowing today and it felt great. Hopefully it will help with my trouble areas.
